Sarahsmom (Jen's) Journal (feel free to comment)

Well... I slept until almost 4 am and then dozed until 5! I am getting closer to a full night's sleep! :cool1:

After school the middle school teacher and I taught 2 45 minute session sof beginning guitar fore staff as a "wellness opportunity" for our district! It was a lot of fun!

Today we have our welcome home assembly for our local soldiers.. I am sure I will be running around trying to get last minute things finsihed up.. my PIA teachers will take all the credit even though they have done nothing!!! That's the staff I work with...

I am wiped out... which could be from my med... I was a little sick to my stomach last night but it passed pretty quickly! All in all everything seems like it is going OK..

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad it is Friday! :cool1:

Hey Jen,

Sounds like A TGIF party here in your journal is in store! I'm sending over the band and some refreshments!

:rockband: "Celebrate good times! Come on!!!"

:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 (water of course!!!!;) )

Have a great weekend, Jen! Relax and enjoy! :cloud9:

hi jen--i am so sorry that i havent been at your journal--things have been crazy--
hope you are feeling better---did they tell you anything about the thyroid yet? I have thyroid problems and i know that i get very depressed every now and then, depending on the levels--let me know what you find out about that :)

I slept through the night! I actaully slept until 5:30 am!!!! :cool1:

Nothing new on the thyroid yet... I bety I won;t hear anything until I go back to the Doc on 3/2... I seem to be tolorating the med right now decently. I do get wicked dry mouth and occasionally ge nauseated, but it only lasts a relativiely short time!!!

Our Welcome Home Soldier's Assembly I put together was AWESOME!!! The soldiers told me they had been welcomed home in many ways, but this was the best welcome home by far! I guess there is nothing like being sung to by 350 children!!!!! I worked really ahrd on this and it was a really great moment!!!!

execize is going great! I did 35 minutes of running and 30 minutes of dancing!

Today I am taking dd to Toy Story 2 on Ice... She is so excited!!!! :cool1:

Hope you all have a great day!!!!

Jen,

I am so happy to hear that your Welcome Home Soldier's Assembly went well! What an amazing memory for the soldiers and the kids too! A wonderful way to show the soldiers how much we appreciate their service and sacrifice. Way to go Jen! :Pinkbounc

That is soooo cool that you are going to see Toy Story 2 on ice!!!! We went to see Nemo on Ice a few weeks ago and it was great! I would love, love, love to see TS2 on ice!!! One of my favorite movies of all time! :teeth:

Have a great time today!

Hi Jen - Sorry it's taken me a few days to visit. I seem to be behind in a lot of journals lately :guilty:

Your going through so much in your life right now and have such a great attitude. I think with you writing this down for everyone to read, it relieves some of the stress for you and maybe with inspire someone else who is going through similiar symptoms to seek help. I hope the medications helps you get through the winter and I'm sure you'll perk up when the weather gets warmer (like the rest of us).

Take care of youreslf and enjoy the rest of your weekend :sunny:

:cool1: Alright Jen!! Sleeping through the night is awesome! Glad to hear the Welcome Home Assembly went so well! :teeth:

How was TS on Ice? My daughter wants to go.

You're doing great! Stay positive! :goodvibes

TS 2 was great!!! DD loved it!!!!

I slept untill 6 am this morning! The reason I woke up was because a 3 1/2 year old was calling mommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmy! Mommmmmmmmmmmmy! ;)

Well I was bad last night... We went out to dinner with my parents. I had a bowl of french onion soup and 1/2 piece of veal parm... I didn't eat the pasta and I didn't have dessert! Actually I could only eat 1/2 of the parm... I was full .. and then I stopped eating!!! That is a good sign!!! :cool1:

Today is th Daytona 500.. I love to watch NASCAR.. You would never know that I like it as I don't really act like the nascar fans who dress like their driver or collect lots of stuff... I just like the strategy of racing!!! It's a lot of fun to go to a race in person as well!!!

Have to go grocery shopping this morning... I am in the mood for cut up veggies and dip...

I am feeling decently.. I would have to say the main side effect of the med is the sick to my stomach feeling I sometimes get.. I have had it every day, but it usually passes within 45 minutes or so.... I did feel really wiped out yesterday afternoon after TS2...

I really beleive knowing and trying to put a positive spin on this is making a difference in me. All of these things... getting better from the depression, losing weight and eating healthy, and all of the exercize are making me a better me.. Just knwoing that makes me feel good! :teeth:

Jen,
I understand on the Nascar thing. I will watch the race, but I doubt that most of my friends would ever expect that I was a Nascar fan. I don't fit the sterotype LOL! (Of course some of my friends who are fans don't fit the sterotype, but there are a few... one girl has a brother who wanted us to go to Kyle Petty's shop and buy him a used tire and bring it home on a plane! We ignored this LOL!)

Glad things are going well for you!

Hi Jen!

I am glad that you liked TS2!!! I so want to go, but I'm not sure it will be in the Cleveland area.

Enjoy the Daytona 500! I'm not a huge Nascar fan, but I would sure love to be in Florida right now! :sunny:

Take good care of you, Jen and keep up the good work! :grouphug:

Jen,

:wave2: Glad to hear that things are going well for you. Hope that tummy thing gets settled down once your body gets totally adjusted to your meds. You have such a great outlook on things!!! That is certain to make a great difference in dealing with all of the stuff you do. Wish more people had your attitude. It is great!!

Sounds like your Welcome Home Party was quite the celebration!! Must have been great to put something like that together and to see the immediate gratifiication! How awesome to be able to say thanks to our service people with lots of little people helping!!! Sounds like a party I would have loved to attend!!

One last thing, before I go....Ijust wanted to say thanks for always stopping by my journal. Every morning when I get up, I know there is gonna be an encouraging comment from you. It is much appreciated. I havenot gotten to the point where I am quite as diligent as you with journals, but I certainly aspire to be!! Thanks for being such a great cheerleder! It is greatly appreciated!!

Have a great week!! Keep up the great work with that awesome attitude!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Jen, good luck on the meds.

I have been taking antidepressants for almost 2 years now. I didn't think much about not sleeping because I usually didn't sleep much more than 4 hrs per night - blamed it on ex-husbands snoring :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I finally got to he point where I didn't care if I went to work and once I got there if I accomplished anything even thought I was currently working on one of my favorite clients and had a deadline to meet.

Hope you are feeling more like yourself soon :wizard: :wizard:

The meds settled me down some until I filed for divorce, lost my father and started having panic attacks when both girls left to go to school in different states. Four walls close in fast. Exercise and talking to a non-threating third party have helped me control the panic attacks.

Hope you don't get to that stage with all your support from your family :) :)

Jen--I'm glad to hear about your good nights sleep, and I know how it is being interrupted by a toddler. The assembly you put together sounds awesome. I used to be a high school teacher, and I know how much work goes into making a great assembly. You should be proud of yourself.

I thought you did a great job on your dinner out--no pasta, no dessert, stopped eating when you were full.

Jen!!! You are amazing!! I had noooo idea you had all this on you these past few weeks...on the 150 board you've been sooo uplifting and a bright sunny spot in my day...I think you're one of those people who do more for others than for yourself!!! I'm glad you're starting to listen to your body/mood/lack of sleep and get some help...it can be very tough to do anything when you don't have a good night's rest...

When do you exercise? I have found that if I exercise in the early morning (an hour +) that I sleep much better....but when I exercise after 7 at night I have a restless sleep...just thought that might be something to consider...and nooo caffeine after 5pm...and my last tip...Tylenol PM is simply acetomeniphen + benadryl...and it really helps me get a sound sleep if I know I've got to get rest...the rest will help your body restore itself and be more efficient...we'll get those scales moving!!! You're doing GREAT!!! Your clothes must be feeling loose baby! :)

Just wanted to drop in and check on you...so glad your niece is on the mend..is your Dad getting his discs checked out? Stress can throw knots into your neck area....I hope he's doing better.

Keep up the great work...you're an inspiration to us all! :)
Tara

:scared1: Boy did I have a not so great day yesterday (eating)!!!! We went to a Daytona 500 party and I nibbled... I did eat mostly veggies and dip, but I also had some wheat thins with buffalo chicken dip, and 1 potato skin... I really didn't eat much else the whole day, but when I did I didn't make great choices!!! Maybe it was TOM and maybe it was me being unconscienous... Don't know, but it is done now!!!

Today is a new day..It is snowy and cold :cold: .. DD and I will go out and shovel and I will get extra time on the tredmill... At least this looks like a more calm week.. No audtions for the 5th grade musical, no assembly to plan etc.. And a short week to boot!

Thanks for all of the kind words you have all said.. They mean a lot! This has become my safe haven... I know I can let loose if I need to and I also know that there are people who need I boost! I like being able to help!

Have a great Monday! :flower:

Right there with you with the food choices. Yesterday I ate pancakes, a piece of toast at lunch and some rice with dinner. I said it was because I was feeling sick but really I was just lazy and annoyed at the unmoving scale - maybe that is what made me feel yucky - or maybe it was the carbs.
You are such an inspiration to me - we will cheer each other on! Monday is a new day for us! :cheer2:

Hi, Jen! Just wanted to stop in and say "hello" and congratulate you on sooo many levels. You have so much to be proud of I think you need someone to start an inventory here for you:
1. You recognized a problem and sought help from your doctor -- that is courage!
2. So glad the assembly went so well -- think of all those lives you touched! The soldiers and the children will have those memories to last a lifetime.
3. How can you say you were bad when you went out to dinner with your family? It sounds to me lilke you did GREAT!!!!
4. You are sleeping better! That HAS to have a huge positive impact on your outlook and your strength. I am so happy for you and wish you pleasant dreams.
5. How exciting to share the TS2 adventure with DD -- a special memory for you and her to share!
6. Be proud of how great you are doing with exercising!
7. Be proud of how well you did at that Daytona party -- it sounds to me like you were conscientious of what you were eating, even if you look back now and aren't thrilled with what you ate. Subconsciously you were still aware of what you were putting in your mouth. From someone who is an expert at mindless gorging (or at least I used to be!), take it from me that it certainly sounds like you are doing great!

Thank you again for all the support and encouragement :sunny: :wizard:  :cheer2: you give me. I hope you find what you need here, too!

Have a great day!

I just don't know what I would do without all you! We are all supportive of each other... It makes this uphill battle of the bulge (at least for me! :rotfl2: ) that much more tolerable and fun!!! As for all of the other support I don't think I could do it with out all of you1 :cool1:

I'm just popping in for a few minutes... I am cooking my ever famous michigan sauce for DH... (He eats the rollls... I don't.... )

I seem really calm today.. I am sure it is due to more sleep which has been awesome! I don't seem so edgy which is really nice... I know my doc said it could be a couple of weeks and today I am on pill 7.. Tomorrow my dose goes up form 25 mg to 50... Maybe psycologically I know I am going to get better.. I don't know, but what I do know is I am in such a better place than last week!

Well got to get back to cooking... The tredmill awaits! :flower:

Your posts just continue to sound so much more uplifting and upbeat!! I'm glad you are getting some sleep. I would always notice how early your posts were...just thought you were an early to bed early to rise kinda gal.

Glad you have a calm week ahead! Enjoy your day :flower:
