Sapphire Beach -St. Thomas

I just found out some friends are staying here for Spring Break week(same week as our cruise). How far is it from the ship? Is it as pretty as Magen's Bay?Any info about Sapphire beach would be appreciated!!!

Sapphire Beach is beautiful and is the beach that the DCL excursion uses. We have been there twice.....once on a DCL excursion and just a few weeks ago we got there on our own with a taxi. We used a gentlemen called the GODFATHER! He was great, neat, professional, knowledgeable and would not take our money until he picked us back up after our beach trip. It is about a 20 min ride and he took on the scenic route with a stop overlooking Magens Bay for photos.

I think it cost about $12 pp r/t and was well worth it. Once at Sapphire Beach we just sat down on chairs. The DCL trip was at least $45 pp and included lunch. By doing it on our own we saved so much money. No big deal, we just ate when we got back to the ship. We arrived at 10:00 and asked to be picked up at 2:00. that gave us enough time to do some shopping also.

I highly recommend the GODFATHER. He said to just ask for him at the dock.

Thanks for the reply!We can't go until about 12:00 b/c we're doing the submarine excursions at 9:30. I had planeed to go to Magen's Bay but it sounds like this beach is just as pretty and maybe not as crowded.Is 2 hours enough time? What is there to do at the beach?We'll eat on the ship and then go around 12:30 or 1:00. Thanks so much!!!

We have also been to Sapphire Beach. Just got off of the ship and took a taxie. We had "Green Eyes". He also took the scenic route. Very pretty beach and the facilities are also very good for changing, snacks, rentals, etc. Would highly recommend it.
