If you visit Sapphire Beach on your own can you use the chairs on the beach and the pool at the resort without any fees or difficulties? I have heard about this, but didn't know if we could just walk into the resort areas and use the facilities without a problem. Also, does anyone know how far it is from Red Hook? A cab ride or walk away? Thanks!

Don't know how far it is from Red Hook but it's about a 15-20 minute taxi ride from where the ship is docked.

We have gone there a few times on our own and never had to pay for chairs. I did not see umbrellas but they may rent them.

There is also a built in pool on the far side of the resort area.

Our family of 4 did this disney excursion in 2002. We did not like this beach because it was so rocky. There were rocks all in the water and it hurt your feet. This is the one excursion that I would not recommend. You may like it and have a great time.

We loved Sapphire Beach! It is beautiful! We must have hit a good day as it was not crowded. We were pratically the only people on the beach.
Don't remember the rocks though. A lot of the beaches in the Caribbean have some rocks in the surf.
We did this excursion on our own. Taxi ride was not too far. Chairs were free as I recall. We also used the restroom facilities at the resort.
