SAP+ ?

This would be ideal for me personally, and I think it’s general it would make DVC more attractive for people who plan vacations 3-6m in advance (depending on home resort advantage period) instead of 8-12m in advance.
Changing it from 6mo for home resort, & 3 month for anywhere else could be interesting, I wonder why they chose 11/7 in the first place?
What else would that disrupt? (flights would still be very attainable, dining res would still be basically the same)

I think it should stay 11m for home resort for people who plan vacations far in advance, but waiting until 3m to jump around resorts would help people who can’t plan far in advance and encourage people to buy where they actually want to stay.

Why do you think it will always hold outsized value? I feel that WDW folks push up the buyer pool and that if CCV and BLT become the new SAPs that will force the AUL subsidized sellers to let buyers have some margin of safety.
Outsized value: In the context of Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resorts, "outsized value" refers to certain resorts or membership options within DVC that provide greater benefits or vacation experiences relative to the investment. It means to me a DVC resort or contract that offers a better return in terms of vacation quality, availability, or cost savings compared to others. For example, some DVC members may find that certain resorts have better accommodations (average), location (only one in HI), or availability (winter and spring break require 11mo advantage), making them feel like they are getting more value out of their membership. These will always be true.

Others like like you @AstroBlasters and me derive value from the delta between rack rates and points x discounted subsidized dues. These too will also never change.

Personally I derive value from using my AUL sub contract as SAP at VGC frequently for example (as I am a local and shoot for 1-BR and random 2-BR within 7-mo). The delta in the all-in cost per point per year of the two is the widest in my portfolio, and that will never change.

I have to disagree with you on the dynamics of buying and selling Unicorns (subsidized AUL contracts). It is never a demand problem and it will always be a supply problem.

At the end of the day, it's about maximizing the enjoyment and benefits of DVC ownership. 😍

Lol I knew someone was going to say that and I’ve read it in the POS, just didn’t care to specify that in this context 😂 should’ve said home booking priority but oh well
And I knew you knew and hence the 🤓 cuz I’m a DVC nerd like everyone here. 🤣
Weather? (I've never been to Orlando, but I assume it is pretty nice in winter, but maybe not as nice as Hawaii. lol)
Oh it can get cold, as in winter jacket cold in December through Feb.

Even early March can be chilly in the morning/evening... one spring break, I recall going on Slinky Dog right away in the morning all bundled up. Now, we're coming from Minnesota, so for us it was our "light" winter jacket approach, but for most people it was pretty cold. But it usually warms up to a lovely temp by the middle of the day!

Late to this thread, but I posted in the resorts thread about our recent stay at SSR. We hadn’t stayed there since 2019 and did not realize just how much the refurb had improved the rooms at the resort. Quite honestly, we really loved our stay there. Much more relaxing than some of our other stays.

Hate to go against the grain. But I’ve stayed in a RIV GV, which was fine, but honestly, I don’t find it any nicer than the new version of the SSR rooms, and SSR is way better on the point charts.

On a trip about 15 years ago it was freezing (maybe literally under 40F) and we spent a small fortune on Helly Hansen gear at Norway.

VGF has the most expensive point charts on property.
We (the group) talked about this one other time when I said the same thing. It was pointed out to me that this is not actually true, that Poly is often more expensive than GF. I didn’t go and analyze the charts but it sometimes it is definitely the case.

Looks like Poly studios are more expensive than VGF during certain times of the year but at the same time Poly is kind of an oddball with only studios and bungalows and it's studios being the largest on property with 2 bathrooms in it, Of the traditional resorts with a studio/1BR/2BR/3BR VGF is the most expensive. The charts for Poly tower are going to be verrrry interesting :X. Like I was telling another user on here, if it becomes necessary I may end up becoming an honorary cabungalow owner if the point charts are absurd :P

Those of us of a certain age can remember many years ago when citrus was still king in Florida, and the stories of frosts wiping out entire harvests of oranges. It would even make the evening news way out here in Southern California. Citrus farmers out in the groves lighting smudge pots to try to keep the fruit from freezing on the trees.

I am of that certain age! And grew up in SoCal so I know exactly what you are talking about! Hahaha!

Another give-away is if you've watched Eddie Murphy and Dan Akroyd in "Trading Places"!....while it was still in theaters! 🤣.

The price of Orange futures in Florida, played a pivotal role in the movie!

That would be bad. I already have flights booked for next August for D23. People have to request dates off work. Members have been sold 11/7 for over 30 years. I don’t think they should change it to accommodate those who can’t work with what they purchased.

Good to know. I'll be sure to bring a hoodie... if its colder than that, I'll just make it a resort day. :)
We were surprised at the bitter cold in December during our trip a few years ago. We are from Ontario - used to cold weather. We had packed hoodies, jeans and light jackets. Even those layers weren't warm enough. Should have had warm hats and mitts.

Yea, I don't know why they would change it, was just curious how it could/would work.

I just cleared rofr on blt so I’m looking at holiday points charts. Christmas week (sat-sat prior to Christmas) this year at SSR 1 bdrm preferred (220 pts) is very close to the points of blt std ( 226pts). Both sleep 5. For my family of 2 adults 2 teens, this would be a much better option for SAP+. I own at both and haven’t had a problem with switching at 7m during other time frames with my SSR points. The 2 showers at blt would make this possible for my current party of 4. This is 100% ~after refurbishing with Murphy beds~

Im taking your Canadian card away from you. We would still be swimming in pools all to ourselves....lol

I have been to Disney in February and it snowed! The week before I heard it was shorts weather!

We went to Disney in the middle of December 2010. Quick 4 day trip. Started out Shorts and T-shirts the first day, 2nd day, started warm, then the front came through, rain, cold, and wind. That evening, DW covered their foliage at the front of Epcot. It got very cold walking around World Showcase. We eventually had our NY winter coats and gloves and scarves on, kids had blankets on their strollers. We have a pic that I still show to people to this day of us in front of Spaceship Earth... It looks like we were going skiing.
