Sap on my favorite pants... How can I remove it?

What did you end up doing with your favorite pants?? Did the sap come out??

I got sap on my shirt the other day and I used that clear hand sanitizer (the stuff you use when you can't get to soap and water) and it came right off. I was actually using it to get the sap off my truck (it works great!!!!).
