Sanuk Sandals?

Following along in this thread. I've never heard of this store but googled it and it's a little less than an hour away. I've had MAJOR foot issues the past year and will be heading to WDW in the fall. Thank you for posting this info. I am definitely checking this store out!
Glad I could be of some help! Their salespeople are super patient and helpful, so I'm sure you'll find something to help your issues.

I don't have the Sanuk sling-backs. I tried them, but didn't find them as comfortable as the Skechers sling-backs, also with a yoga mat foot bed. I wear mine to work constantly- I'm a teacher and always on my feet- and I love them! I plan to bring them and wear them to Disney when we return next year!

Just to be clear, I own 2 pairs of yoga mat slings. My podiatrist was absolutely horrified when I wore them in once and told me to burn them. Of course if he had his way I'd never wear anything but sneakers from the running store with my custom orthodics. If something works for you and is comfortable, that's what you should wear. I can't do sanuks, or keens (3 pairs later lol), or even like half of what are mentioned here thanks to a bundle of foot problems from my arches falling when I stopped ballet/gained weight.

I LOVE my regular Sanuk flip flops. I tried a pair of the sling-backs once and found them to be too narrow for me. I don't have a super wide foot either.

I have some issues with my feet when I do lots of walking (I have sunken arches)... So Disney... I have some sanuks that I absolutely love!! But with wear they get thin, and my heels pound more on the concrete. I have worn Birkenstocks (Gizeh) on my last 2 trips, and have no issues, even at the end of the trip!! So for me, that's amazing! The only Birkenstock issue is the leather sole and rain, which will stain your feet an orange-brown and then your shoes will hold in odour, which will cause issues when your shoes age. What I've started doing in carrying sanuks in the backpack I carry anyways, and swap them out when it rains! This works really well for me, and I never would have guessed that a solid cork soled shoe would be comfortable ;) As for wearing sanuks out, I also wouldn't take a brand new pair- I've gotten blisters from that past experience. I've become pretty particular about my shoe choices and stick to the ones that I know work! Good luck! My sister and I will be there around the same time, and we are getting super excited!

Keens are also a no-go for my sensitive feet. That was an unfortunately expensive discovery, but I now know!!

Have you had experience with the Gizeh in rain? Just wondering if the footbed gets slippery...

Yes. I wouldn't say slippery... Maybe more slimey? But the leather will stain your feet for a couple of days. And I don't think it's great for the shoes... Which is why I'll do a quick switch to a lightweight pair of sandals when it's raining.

Love my Sanuk flip flops! I just bought my 4th pair. They're so comfy and cushiony. They come on every Disney trip and I switch them up with my Skechers Go Walks.
