Santa traditionally brings...

We also get new pajamas on Christmas Eve and a game which we then play. Last year it was Wii Sports Resort. Don't know what game to get this year. Any suggestions?

How about Disney's Think Fast? It is like a Disney version of Jeopardy.

Does lifesavers still make these? The only ones I am finding are knock off brands. We got them one year and tossed them because they tasted terrible.

Oh great, now I want some butter rum life savers! I haven't had them in years but they are my favorite!

Dawn

The Lifesaver story book. Always in the stocking since I was a kid and will continue with my kids. Luckily they make gummy ones so they aren't such a choking hazard.

When I was little my parents were divorced. At my dad's he did santa's footprints coming out of the fireplace and across the room. It ruined his carpet, LOL. The next year, we found 2 large jingle bells by the front door that had fallen off of santa's sleigh when he took off. The year after that there was a large glittery skeleton key lying on the floor near the stockings that dad claimed was to santa's workshop and he must've dropped it. He had great ideas!!

Mom always gave pajamas on Xmas Eve and the stocking always had fruit, toothbrush, and underwear in it.

Each child will find a couple of new books in their bed on Christmas morning. They are allowed to unwrap them and stay in bed reading until a preapproved time when they can wake us up. Most of my kids look forward to this, but my 6yo this year told me that he doesn't want a book in his bed, he wants a toy (he doesn't like reading) so I said "Okay, but you know, if you get a toy in your bed then you will get books under the tree." So he changed his mind, lol.

I LOVE this! Santa always gives books to the kids for Christmas but they are always under the tree. Santa might switch things up this year.

I started off with new PJs for the kids just before christmas. And I would bring the kids to get photos with Santa in their new PJs. LOL - back when they were younger.

Santa never wraps presents and always has them fully assembled and ready for playing here. ;)

When I was a kid, my brother & I received nuts, chocolate & clementines in the bottom of our stockings. AND Santa always left the stockings in our room. The rule in our house was we could opening the stockings, eat, read (comics!!!) and play but not distrub our parents until 7am

a pair of matching pj's, a special ornament, and tooth brushes (spinny fun kind) in their stockings!

2 cans of corned beef hash:thumbsup2

we slow things down when we find that and have breakfast. Nice break.

Santa doesn't have time to wrap, so there are always a couple random unwrapped items.

We always got pj's on Christmas Eve, I kept this tradition with my now 23yo DD and she is keeping it with her newborn son.
Stockings always have a Christmas coloring book and a new box of crayons and a canister of play dough. There are four of us kids so we each got one color out of the four pack.

They have them on the Kmart website: http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_...003a&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=033W016804110001P

Maybe they have them in the stores. I don't buy them but I think they sell them at CVS or Walgreens.

Every year Santa leaves my kids a big solid chocolate Santa (from a local candy shop where I grew up) at Grandpa's house and he brings them on Christmas morning when he visits.
He also leaves my favorite chocolates too :)

We give our kids new PJs and a new ornament on Christmas Eve. I find ornaments that have something to do with what my kids did in the past year. It was a tradition for me growing up and I still have all of my ornaments and I treasure them, so I wanted to do the same for my kids.

PJs and a pillow for Christmas Eve. We have had every type of pillow imaginable. When they were little we had character/animal pillows, then the pillows you lean back on, the pillows filled with soft stuff (can't remember what it was called) and this year really nice regular bed pillows. In the stocking tooth brushes, tooth paste, now that they are older razors and shaving cream.

Silly String and M&Ms peanut for one and plain for the other

Noticed your Star Wars banner, and wanted to let you know that I saw M&M dispensers at Walmart this week where the M&M guys are dressed as Luke and Han Solo. My girls are very into Star Wars and will be finding these under the tree this year.

For our traditions:

A book outside their door so they can get it and read until we wake up. Even when they were really young they got a picture book so they could keep themselves entertained until it was ok to go to the living room.

PJs on Christmas Eve so that the video of them coming out of their room and racing to the living room had nice PJs, lol.

Lifesaver books in their stocking....as a kid we got these and spent a lot of time negotiating to trade the flavors we didn't want for the ones we did...Cherry was highly sought after but my favorite Wintergreen was all mine as no one else liked them. Now, sadly, both my kids and my husband love Wintergreen so the war is on!

They always get an ornament....usually we try to match it to something about the year....the year they learned to read they got one with a storybook of The Night Before Christmas, their first ballet recital was a ballerina ornament, etc. It's a bit harder to do that every year, but we try....and early on it was "one" ornament, now it's often several because they love them so much. So when they move out they'll have enough to start their own tree without having to resort to a lot of cheap nothing ornaments like I did, lol. Those cheapo nothings got tossed year by year as we filled the tree with special meaningful things. Of course, when the kids leave our tree is going to go back to being a bit sparse....but I figure we'll be at their homes for the holidays so who cares, lol.

It's a given that they'll get undies, socks, and usually a robe and slippers just because they need them, lol. I try to get some other clothing item that they'll love.....often a Disney T Shirt lately, lol.

We always read Twas the Night Before Christmas before we go to bed on December 24.....I still can remember the first year that they read it all the way through by themselves. They've since written a couple of their own versions, lol.

We also have a number of traditions for advent and just for December....I'm a sucker for traditions and the holidays are heavy with them, but thankfully my kids don't mind and seem to find the same comfort in it that I do.

Ours is a little odd maybe....when my kids were little the Santa Clause movie with Tim Allan came out and in the movie is Bernard the head elf. :santa:

So Bernard comes to our house about two or three weeks before Christmas. He always leaves a new movie, usually a Christmas one.

It might just be a coincidence but he always comes during the day when we are out at the Christmas tree farm cutting down our tree. Than when we return the gift is there.....the kids watch the new movie while DH and I wrestle the tree into the stand and get the lights on it.....by the time the movie is done so are we and we all can decorate the tree together.

That Bernard is so smart....my kids never questioned why Bernard didn't go to other people's homes....they just used to think they were lucky. :rotfl:
One is 12 and knows the truth but the 10 year old is holding on to believing...although I think the jig is probably up. Bernard will keep coming anyway....

Santa always brings the 4 or 6 pack of Play-Doh for the kids stockings.
My kids are now almost 17 and 12 but it takes up room and I still see they use it as it is always opened at their desks in their rooms :) I don't think I can ever not buy it for their stockings.

Very cute about Bernard. My dd is almost 17 and my ds is 12 and I still tell them to make sure they have a list for Santa. I ask my dd to send me links on the computer to what she exactly wants for some items but when we talk outloud about buying any gifts, it is always Santa, sorry, that is just the way it is :rotfl2:
I still hide Easter eggs too but both kids know about the Easter bunny ;)

The Lifesaver books are always in the stockings :) I got them as a child and so now my children get them. I get the gummies for my youngest 3 and the hard candies for my older 2 plus my husband. I can't believe how much they've went up over the years....I was going to get them last week but goodness at 2.99 a box I figured I'd wait.

We always got oranges, apples and nuts in our stockings too....but I usually only put fruit out on the table since it makes the stockings so full and heavy.

Growing up, Santa always filled all of the empty candy dishes and put candy canes on the tree. I always got SO excited about this as a kid. I continue the same candy cane tradition with my own kids and love their excitement over it.

I always buy my kids new toothbrushes, toothpaste, and their favorite candies. DS 10 loves the candy cane Hershey kisses and DS 7 loves plain Hershey's chocolate candy bars. Oh...and the orange in the toe of the stocking! Gotta continue that one!

Dawn I saw the Lifesaver books at Target this afternoon.

Thanks:thumbsup2 But I already got a Darth Vader one a Walgreens I was so excited to find it but thanks for thinking of me!!

Ooooh, I forgot the Advent Calendar. We've always had them, and I've sent them off to university many years. Last year, I thought that I'd skip it, and I got some real attitude from my youngest. So, this year, she got the Lindt one. ;)

Each year Daughter gets a snowman from Santa! It's been a fun finding her a new one every year.
