Santa Monica

What is the best place to stay in Santa Monica for a family. We require a place with a kitchen or at least a fridge, microwave and room for 4 adults and 1 child. We prefer something on the beach or 1-2 blocks from the beach. Any suggestions?

Have you looked at santamonica dot com? Lots of information. There seem to be a number of suite type lodgings like Doubletree.

Check out CalMarHotel.com

It has everything you list, but is an older property. Some people look at "older" and automatically think "yuck", but it's clean and safe. Doubletree Suites is the only other place I can think of in the area that has microwave, fridge, etc.
