I am SO excited! Being an avid reader I have been eyeing ereaders, especially since the Kindle came out. Hubby and I were in Barnes and Noble and were very impressed by the Nook, especially it's open format/sharing capabilites. Hubby said if I really wanted one to pre order it and I did, right on the spot.

Any other Nook owners here? Let me know what you think of yours.

Thanks,
Kathee

Hi Kathee,

Be sure you understand exactly what the Nook is capable of before you receive it.

The lending capability touted by B&N is severely different from what has been explained.

You are allowed to loan a book once and only once for 14 days. You do not have access to the book while it is loaned and not all books are "loanable". Many (if not most) publishers are disabling this feature as e-books are cheaper than regular books and they dont want people sharing them.

This feature has been widely publicized and B&N has retracted most of what they have said about books being "loanable".

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for this additional information. :) I guess more homework is needed!
