I'm just curious which is more common. We have always wrapped our Santa gifts in this family but in most Santa stories and movies I've noticed the toys are usually not wrapped when he puts them out.

At our house (and our homes growing up) gifts from mom and dad were wrapped and put under the tree as they were purchased/wrapped. Santa leaves his gifts unwrapped Christmas morning.

In our house, presenst from Santa are left unwrapped and left on a chair for each child. Presents from family members are wrapped up and put under the xmas tree.

I am in the minority though and all my friends wrap up santa presents too

Santa used to wrap at our house until last year. We decided to email him and ask him to "be more green" and not wrap anymore.

They do get a few wrapped presents from mom/dad. I'm waiting for them to ask us why we are so wasteful. :rotfl2:

Santa wraps his gifts in special Santa paper that's different from the paper that mommy & daddy wrap their gifts in.

We leave out santa paper (ie paper w/ pictures of sants in any form) that each kid picks out themselves (3 diff ones) for santa to wrap his gifts. Then xmas am the kids know which is theirs and we don't need to explain santa wrapping paper left over (or found) or what they see in stores. Paper without santas on it are used for all of the other gifts.

We used to wrap all the Santa presents in Santa wrapping paper but I decided last year that Santa didn't need to wrap the awkwardly shaped gifts. Those are just left with a bow and a tag that reads "Love, Santa". If the gift is in an easy to wrap box, I will still wrap it in Santa paper.

Santa does not wrap presents at our house. Just leaves them by or with the stocking of that child. Santa also does not bring the "big" gift anymore just small stuff and gift cards as our kids are 17 & 15!

Santa usually sets up his gifts in our house. The year before last was a barn with animals milling about. Gosh, can't remember last year's gifts!

In our house Santa wraps the gifts for each child in a different wrapping paper. This is paper that is not used for any other gifts for extended family... Even stocking stuffers get wrapped :goodvibes

Santa gifts are wapped in Santa paper. I have 3 kids and each kid gets their own different paper, this year each one says Ho Ho Ho.
Growing up Santa never wrapped my presents but dh thought that was really weird so we (I ;)) have always wrapped them for our kids.

Santa does not wrap presents in our house. How on earth would he ever have time to wrap all those gifts to everyone?? Besides, it's not enviromentally friendly! Only gifts from friends and family are wrapped and put under the tree.

Duh, that's what the elves are for! :thumbsup2:rotfl:

Mmmm...Santa always leaves wrapped gifts at my house. He did when I was a kid, too.

Santa assembles all his presents and leaves them unwrapped, ready for play. I think, this year, since he is bringing an XBox for the entire family, he will hook it up and leave a note on top of it that it is for everyone--that way neither DH or DD9 will be able to claim that it is their personal toy!

Although Santa never left wrapped gifts when I was growing up, he does wrap the gifts for my girls!

I just thought that since kids LOVE tearing through the paper to open gifts, why not have Santa gifts wrapped too!!! Each girl gets a different paper, and its not the same wrapping paper used for gifts under the tree! They love seeing the wrapping paper Santa got for their gifts. (Usually, its their favorite character!)

Even though my girls are older (29, 25, and 16), they still LOVE opening their gifts from Santa! Santa will also wrap my grand-daughter's gifts too!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Santa gifts have always been unwrapped at our house; it is how my parents did it for me and it is how I do it for my daughter.

Besides, if Santa wraps his gifts how are the kiddos suppose to sneak out at 2am and see what they got ;)

Santa always wrapped at my house growing up, and always different paper than family gifts. He does the same here, but leaves one or two things unwrapped in front.

I stopped wrapping a few years ago BUT I dont leave them just sitting out,I use gift bags (so i reuse them) and colored boxes so they "look" wrapped. It is much easier then wrapping AND I can fold them up and reuse so I dont use all that paper....it got crazy when there were piles and piles of paper and a gift or two would get thrown away and we would have to dig to find it!I also put FROM SANTA on all the gifts except the ones that the kids get each other so they know their brother and sister got them a gift...all the rest, even from gma and gpa say SANTA
