 WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!
 During the Christmas season

Yes, folks. It's true. I'm headed back to Disney World. :thumbsup2

Some of you may know who I am, while most of you probably don't. Ohhh, but don't fret. YOU SOON WILL! ;)

The last time I went to WDW was back at the enddddd of August. In 2006. Holy Moly, that's a long time ago! I was 18 at the time and took my little brother & sister. We had an absolute BLAST! As soon as I got back, I had the Disney Blues bad. Yall know what I'm talking about. I had started a Pre-Trippie, but never got around to finishing it.

WOOPS! I promise that will not happen again. Cross my fingers!

Well, alot of things have changed since then AND I'm heading back to my happy place. So, let's get started, shall we? :)

CAST OF CHARACTERS:

Me, Lauren (21) - I'm finishing up school in Elementary Education. Still deciding on exactly what grade I want to teach. I love everything about Disney World. Everything.

BFF, Corrina (21) - My Best Friend Forever since 3rd grade! This will be her 1st EVER trip to the World! I am so excited to experience this with her.

(This was taken on my 19th birthday, but unfortunately I don't have many recent pictures of us on this computer. Sorry!)

DATES:

November 29, 2008 - December 4, 2008.
Staying at Pop Century! LOVE Pop Century. :lovestruc

So, we'll be driving down instead of flying. Two words. ROAD TRIP! We plan on leaving around 9:00 or so the night before, driving straight through (with stops for gas & food, of course!) and making it to Disney around 9:30am.

Well, there you have it. You've met my crazy family and know where we're staying and when. :woohoo:

Next installment: Coming up soon!

66 days left until we arrive!

We have officially made a count-down full of multi-colored Mickey paint chips that Jake & I swiped from Home Depot. :rolleyes1

BIG shout-out to Jeff, the oh-so-helpful paint guy, who came over to see if we needed any assistance! :thumbsup2

"Wow, ma'am. You're either painting many rooms or making ONE colorful bedroom!" Those were his exact words. I kid you not.

I politely told him that I would have to go home and discuss our options before deciding on anything. ;)

I took a picture of our lovely countdown, but somewhere between the time the picture was taken and now, Jake has found a way to hide my camera in a spot that I can't find.

I'm off to search some more! When the camera is found, I'll post the picture.

Ohhhhh I'm here and first at that!!!! Little Jake is sooo cute!!! What a fun trip you and your BFF to have with your kids. Looking forward to more. Ohhh and I love what the guy at Home Depot said to you. So funny! :lmao:

PS...Can't believe we miss each other by 11 days!

Hiiii Cheryl! Thanks so much for joining along!

Ha, the Home Depot guy was great! We must not have alot of DISers in my neck of the woods! ;)

And oh my goodness I know! I'm so upset that we're going to miss each other.

I'm in too (saw your link in Cheryl's PTR)! I just graduated after majoring in Elementary Ed. as well. Unfortunatley I'm still looking for a full-time teaching job but am doing the subbing thing for now. As for which grade, I LOVE the younger kids (first-third grade)...so much fun! Though I am starting to enjoy the older grades too but I definitely prefer the little guys. :goodvibes

Anyways...sounds like you have a fun trip planned and I can't wait to hear more about it!

Another elementary teacher! I hope you find that perfect teaching job soon! GOOD LUCK! :) I'm definately leaning towards the younger grades myself. I really wanted 5th grade at first, but as I get closer to the end, I'm re-thinking that decision and thinking I want somewhere around 2nd grade. Thanks for the advice girl!

Okay, so I've decided that I want to get a new digital camera. The poor camera I have now has been with me since I was 16 years old and has definately seen better days. Let's face it. It's OLD, BEAT UP, and well... takes some pretty fuzzy pictures. (Notice that last picture in the first post? Yeah. Horrible quality.)

This is where yall come in.

I need your lovely advice, opinions, words of wisdom on helping me pick a new camera! :thumbsup2

Now, I don't need anything fancy schmancy. Just something that takes decent quality pictures and some decent video. That's all I ask for! Promise.

I've seen a few that I like.

1) Canon 8.0MP Digital Camera - Blue (SD1100)

I call this CINDERELLA Blue!

2) Sony 7.2MP Digital Camera - Silver (S750)

3) Fujifilm FinePix 8.2MP Digital Camera - Silver (J10)

4) Nikon Coolpix Digital Camera - Graphite Black (S210)

What do yall think? What digital cameras do you have?

Feel free to let me know about one I don't have listed. Like I said, those are just ones I've looked at.

THANKS!!!

I have the last one you posted. Well it's a Nikon coolpix but I dont know if its the same number (and mine is red). I love it! It takes crappy night shots though (well it may take good ones but I just never read the instruction book) The camera takes awesome day shots!!! It has a rechargeable battery and I was worried it wouldnt last the day (at Disney) since I take TONS of pictures but I never got the "battery low" warning light. :thumbsup2

I saw the red one in the store and I loved that color! And ha, you remind me so much of myself... I never read the instruction book to my old camera either. Maybe that's why I always got so frustrated with it! LOL. :rotfl:

But thanks so much! I also loooove the fact that it has a rechargable battery that lasts a LONG time! That's definately something I need. I am so sick of always having to change the batteries after like 3 hours of taking pics.

Haha too funny!!! I should really read the book before this trip.

But yea if the battery can last through one of my vacations it can last through anyones! I take a picture, turn off the camera, 2 seconds later I see something else and turn it on and take the picture...repeat all day long!

When I had my last camera I use to take a 24 pk of batteries! :lmao:

Oh my gosh, that's totally me! I have to bring a huuuuuge pack of batteries wherever I go because my camera is always dying.

I really want that Nikon now!

Is this the one you have?

Ohh I did my student teaching in a second grade class and it was AWESOME!!! They were so much fun and it was so hard to leave them. :sad1:

As for the cameras...I like the blue one. :thumbsup2

Aw man, I bet it was! They're adorable at that age and you get attached so quickly! I'm glad you had a blast with them :)

I like the blue one alot. I think I'm just going to have to go back into the store and play around with each one!

subscribing! I'll have to come back and check out the pics when I get home (they aren't viewable at work...booo!)

Hahaha thats too funny! We sound so alike!

Yay for the new camera! Hey if you end up reading the instructions you can fill me in on how to take night shots. :lmao: JK!

Where is everybody? I know yall are out there! ;)

Okay, I have a question!

Are there any table service restaurants where 2 people can share ONE entree? I was looking at Allears.net, but that wasn't helping all too much since I couldn't see actual pictures of the meals.

We were thinking about going to Kona and getting a Lapu-Lapu! :goodvibes

I don't know about the one entree thing but I will say Kona is sooooooo good! If you go there you wont regret it and you will want your own entree. It's that good!
