Santa at Disneyland?

Does Santa visit Disneyland? Is there anywhere to get photos with him? I read somewhere that he is in the parade, but I want to know if there is somewhere where we can actually 'visit' him.

Thanks

I don't remember seeing him anywhere else except the parade.

A few years ago my niece saw an older gentleman with a white beard and red shirt and she ran up to him saying "Hi Santa". He was a good sport and laughed about it.

Santa is in residence at "Santa's Reindeer Roundup" back at Big Thunder Ranch, and kids can visit and get their photos taken with him, though the line gets pretty long. There's also "Beach Blast" Santa at DCA in Sunshine Plaza, though he's dressed in California beach attire and not the typical red suit.

And yeah, he's in the Christmas parade, too, though there's no opportunity to do anything more than wave at him there.

We had dinner at Goofy's Kitchen in December, around the 19th, and down the hall in the hotel there was Santa Claus in a big chair sitting in a Christmas scene. There was a photographer there taking the Photo Pass but also allowing people to use their camera.

It was great because there really wasn't a line and my nephew had all the time he wanted with Santa.

Not sure if this is a regularly scheduled event, we just happened on to him.

Last year Santa was incredible! The photos are simply wonderful in the log cabin at Santa's reindeer Roundup!

I still miss the sleigh that used to be in the area at the beginning of main street. The reindeer round-up is OK, but my favorite Santa pics are the ones in that sleigh!

I'm sad they moved this too. It was perfect! We haven't been in the raindeer round-up yet but will try it out this year.

This may sound silly, but is there a charge to visit Santa? Do you have to buy photos?

Do you have to eat at Goofys Kitchen to visit the santa there? We may eat there, but haven't decided yet. It seems pretty expensive for a buffet type restaurant. Is it worth the money?

No, you wouldn't have to eat at GF. Santa was outside in the corridor of the hotel not in the restaurant.

GF is expensive but totally worth it in my opinion. Great interaction with the characters. My nephew, 3yo, cried when a little boy took a pot from him during the pots and pans banging thing and Goofy came over to our table again and hugged him and played just with him.

Also, my son, 14, had a coat on that had some fake fur on the hood and Chip & Dale had great fun with him the entire evening thinkiing it was chipmunk fur.

We had lots of personal attention from the characters and the food was very good in my opinion, but I am not a food snob. I would say it was very good buffet food. We went for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. Santa was an unexpected bonus for us.

Here are some pics that I took of Santa last year.

Here is Santa at the cabin at Woody's Roundup area (located next to the walkway from Big Thunder Mountain to Fantasyland).
