Sanford Airport

I just got a great rate to fly from Syracuse NY to Sanford airport just outside Orlando ($106 -roundtrip!) There is a new airline servicing Syracuse called Transmeridian. Has anyone flown with them? How far is the ride from airport to Downtown Disney? Thanks for the help!

Transmeridian has actually been around since about 1995. They were/ still are a charter company that flies for some of the large tour companies. They used to fly the older Boeing 727s(don't know if they still do) and believe they are using Boeing 757s. I have a few old friends that fly for them but have never rode on them personally so cannot comment on their services.

Sanford is at least 45mins from DTD but it is located just off the 417 Greenway(beltway) and not a bad drive.

ttbells Welcome to the DIS from another CNYer. I think it's great that Transmeridian is flying nonstop to FL from SYR now - and Las Vegas too! We already got a pretty good deal on Delta about 5 months or so ago at 212.50 pp but I'm sure we'll be using them to go either back to FL or LV if they keep their fares low.

Hi another CNYer here.
I have looked into TMA and not sure about flying into Sandford.
I priced rental cars from there and also shuttle services. Both were higher then MCO.I do like the times TMA flys and the fact it is direct flight. I have tickets with Delta for October for $212 which I booked at 331 days out way before TMA was around here) and then decided to venture out of SYR area and have tickets with Delta for May 2004 out of Rochester for $130.

ttbells after your make your trip will you let us know how things worked for you. When are you going? and how did you get 106 for a price? the best I came up with was 123. which is 56.05
each way plus 7 tax going and 4 tax coming back.

Its nice to see so many CNY's here. I work in Carousel Center I bet ya know where that is huh???

Hi Lori,
Yes, I am a frequent visitor to the mall. I just got lucky with the TMA price. I helped a neighbor plan a disney trip and when I was on the TMA sight checking flight times for her, I got a popup about a 1 day sale to orlando. Barely had time to OK it with Hubby because prices expired at midnight-- How could we NOT go at that price?? We are leaving 8/23 (have tickets for Bob Dylan at the State fair on 8/22) and returning 8/ 27. Iwill definately let all the CNY'ers out there know how it goes. I would keep checking the prices online at TMA. October prices are around $79 each way - and book online for more discount.
I got a good rate for a rental thru DOLLAR RENTAL - used a code CDEM from mousesavers and got a base rate for a compact for 124.95 / 162.31 with all the taxxes and fees.

Yeah. I really was wondering about the distance from Sanford. I know shuttles are more but it may still be cheaper. I'm glad we have our airfare/shuttle already tho.

Lori - we're at the Carousel at least 2x a week. Have to always pop in the Disney Store and ride the Carousel with my boys. It's tough.

I work at Kohr Bros Frozen Custard...have you heard of it? Its on the second level close to JcPenneys. Stop by next time your in the mall and say HI...
I visit the Disney Store about 4 times a week...right now they have 20% of the whole store (except DD$, gift cards, theme park passes, DVD, the usual stuff not included.)
