Sandy and James PJ 6/18/08-DREAMS DO COME TRUE! few pictures up!

Your dress is beautiful!

As to the direction the chairs should face, you know my vote is toward the water. :) But you'll be able to tell what your preference is once you see it in person. Spend as much time as you want there and take lots of pictures and even video if possible!

Thanks!! I didnt think about video! :goodvibes

So, after all the distress I've been reading from too many disbrides, I decided to do a newsletter to send to our guests. In it we reminded them to make reservations- a novel idea- I know they are not Disney junkies like me but come on it is disney-in June -rooms book up, restaurants book up- I have already been harping on them for months! I think my dad is the only one who has made one. I know we have time but- hopefully if I get on them now- less stress later :)

We are also doing a breakfast at Chef Mickeys the day after the wedding so I asked for a rough count for this by the time we leave for our planning session- the 18th - 10 days! Because our guest list is small-only 35- it is mostly family and a couple close friends-we are pretty sure who is coming, but there are a few ????- and this is a Family drama story I will not bore you with! THis hopefully ending the RSVP drama later!!

Here is our newsletter:

And ready to be mailed: I have to say this was very exciting, I cant wait to be able to mail the invitations!!!

Everything looks great Sandy! The newsletter is a great idea. I didnt do one because I made a really detailed website that nobody has visited. :( My guests keep asking the same questions posted on that darn website. A newsletter would've been lots easier, and would've been read by a lot more people!

I agree with the newsletter idea. Websites are great but unless they print out the info from the website - or have technical devices - they will want something printed to bring along with them. It would make it much easier to check something on a piece of paper they can put in their pocket or purse.

I hope they read it!!! I'm not sure why this is hard for some!!

I am sure no one has visited the website Disney has set up!! DF asked why in the newsletter I didnt put all info, prices etc. I said because I reminded them about where to get the specifics- the WEBSITE!

We did both a great website(www.ourdisneywedding.co.uk) and news letters yet I still get the same questions!!

 :headache:

Congratulations! Everything looks so wonderful so far! Your dress is amazing on you!! Looking forward to hearing about your planning session.

Thank you! I'm so looking forward to our planning session:goodvibes It is 2 weeks from today! I finally faxed our food tasting sheets back- yum, but what a hard decision it will be!

I feel like I'm not ready yet- so many decisions still to make:confused:

A BIG bonus for us is we will be going to Disney ALONE:cool1: for 2 days, we booked a room at WL and a nice, quiet :woohoo: dinner at Artist Point for the night before our planning session!! Our boys will be with their grandpa- he will bring them to us later that evening and we have surprised them with a couple days for them to play as well!:yay:

Ok I need help! What to wear to our DP!

We are having a early ceremony with the reception following and finishing by 3pm- we thought about relaxing at the BC after- or wondering Epcot for the afternoon-

The problem- we had decided we would change out of our wedding clothes and go to the DP in those clothes. But will the picture (randy is coming for the DP) going to be as nice if we are not in our Wedding attire?

DF definately do not want to change back into wedding clothes- I'm torn!

If anyone has picture at a DP no in wedding clothes I would love to see them!

We are planning a DP in November of this year. We will be having an early morning ceremony and our reception should be over by 3:00 (like yours). I really want to wear my dress and I know my DF does not want to wear his tux. I am going to try to talk him in to it. I think the pictures will look wonderful. How many times can you wear your wedding dress in Epcot with IllumiNations going off behind you. Once in a lifetime.

If we don't go with the dress and tux option we will go with a nice sundress (maybe in white) and nice pants and shirt for him. I don't want us to to wearing shorts and a tshirt with flipflops or sneakers. I don't care what our guests wear but if we are not in wedding atire we will be slightly dressed up.

I agree! Yesterday DF asked me if I really wanted to walk around Epcot in my dress!!:rolleyes1 Well, actually YES I DO!!!:woohoo:

I so agree - I just don't think they get it. You can wear your dress and get him a nice pair of black pants and a short sleeve shirt - something with a collar and buttons down the front but more casual then a tux and vest. This way you will both look great.

i am going to pi the night of my wedding...there was no way i was going to wear the big poofy dress there, so i bought another one. i got it from target of all places for $16. it's one of the isac mizrahi bridesmaid dresses and it's white and i LOVE it...

Do they sell them in the stores ? :confused3 I dont think I have ever seen them! I had thought of looking at bridesmaids dresses though-seems like it might be a good option.

I have so much trouble explaining to people why I'm changing back into my dress for the Dessert Party. Hello? Pictures?!

My friend's like "You don't want to haul around that dress - you need to change into a chic going-away suit," and I'm like "THIS IS MY ONLY OPPORTUNITY TO WEAR A WEDDING DRESS IN A PARK EVER!!" :rotfl:

At least DF isn't balking at the idea of wearing his tux.... although he may not even know he's wearing his tux...

I agree :rolleyes1 It's not everyday you get to stroll the park in a giant dress!! I just dont know if DF will agree!- Trust me he wasnt wearing a tux when the planning began!

I do think it will make prettier pictures!

So, I think I have finally figured out our invitations!!! :woohoo:

A little background: After our site visit in June I fell in love with an invitation I saw at Franck's- it had a firework at the top that formed a Mickey mouse head (what else! LOL) It was matted and had ribbon. Heidi told me Impressions did it, so when I got home I called, got samples and played around with it until I got it just right! UNTIL---the best part ---- I needed 15 invitations- figuring we created the invitation it would be a bit more expensive than just ordering-- the grand total came to just under $1000!!!!!

Okay after I picked myself off the floor- DF says just do it!!-apparently he had lost his mind!!- No really it was very sweet of him- I worked hard to get it the way I wanted. But NO! I cant pay $1000 for 15 invitations!!!

Luckily- I had found the Disers and the Boards and realized I too could make my own- so I've been playing with it and this is what I have come up with! I'm pretty excited about it! I decided on cards and pockets--

And gotta have some SHIMMER, so thank you Caryn for the stardream paper recommendation-

I matted the invitation in silver stardream and the shooting star over the castle I outline with crystal glitter!!( not sure if you can see it in the picture but it is pretty)

Yeah! :cool1:

I figure mid March so that gives me some time!

Oh- to mail them out DF saw a show on lifetime that mail invitations in little mailer boxes- I found some on the paper-source website so we are going to use them- postage is a little higher-but they are cool.

That's about all for invitations!

Today I spoke with Linda- Randy's wife and I'm so excited we are going to meet him when we are down for our planning session !!

:cool1:
