sandwiches at dessert party?

Can you get finger foods at a dessert party? That may be a crazy question, but I figure-why not? Or even scrap the dessert thing alltogether and just have something like vege trays/sandwiches?

This is what I'm doing for our Fantasmic party. Fruits, cheeses and stuff.

We had the desserts plus a fruit platter and a cheese platter. We wanted finger foods but they said it is hard to do because of transporting the food from the french restaurant to the french island were our party was and it would cost alot more to do that.

That is what we are doing too. We are serving:

Fruit Platter w/fruit dip
Cheese Platter with Crackers
Veggie Platter w/dip
Beef skewer with teriyaki sauce
Fiesta Spring Rolls
Mini-crab cakes with remoulade sauce
Cooked-to-order penne pasta with grilled chicken in a cream sauce
Two different types of mini-desserts
Coffee, Tea and Lemonade
