I don't think this was "sudden" to Sandra...at the Golden Globes ( I think) when she says in her speech "you're so hot, annnnndddddd, I love you" DH and I looked at each other and said was she trying to sound goofy with that? Seriously, it was just odd, maybe she was in shock of the moment, but it sounded more like an after thought. I imagine they had to keep up a good front for a while, the Oscar buzz started early for her, and I believe they tried to keep the status quo. The news broke PDQ after the celebration died down, matter of weeks.
I don't think she knew ahead of time. She could have said a hundred
other things than the stuff she did about JJ during her globes speech, her interview with B. Walters and then on the Oscars and still made her relationship sound good to decent.
If anything, all her speeches & the W alters interview are being replayed ad nauseum and her love, trust, faith & belief in what she thought they had, have come back to bite her.
Joy Behar showed her Walters interview again last night. Sandra said very specifically (paraphrasing) that her and Jesse were on the same page in their marriage, that they both want the same things and to head their marriage in the same direction. That their values are the same.
I don't think Sandra has the same values for an open marriage as someone else mentioned MoNique has. I think Sandra thought her marriage was solid and Jesse hadn't been lying to her and living another life.
Yes, Sandra is an actress. She's strong, ambitious, shrewd and intelligent. But, I don't get the conniving & cunning qualities from her that a Catherine Zeta Jones has, and would pre-think what to say in her interviews & speeches to make herself come off so great & innocent, garnering people's sympathy once the affair was known, while also making Jesse into the snake that he turned out to be.
No, Jesse did this on his own. I think Sandra was totally blind-sided. She really thought she had turned the bad boy around and they were building something safe & secure together.
Sandra's actions & interviews were that she cared more for her lost pit bull dog than an oscar nomination. she went before a judge to say her marriage was safe & stable enough to raise his daughter in. (Not something someone would do if she thought her marriage was on the outs.) She told Walters that she was able to take more chances in her acting because if she failed, it wasn't the most important thing in her life anymore. That at the end of the day, she had what she & Jesse had been building - that she thought was solid.

I guess Sandra should be glad she never had children with Jesse the Slime ball James. I never really liked him anyway, and he NEVER smiles in the Pics he is in with Sandra...
