Nano, shuffle, I don't know! It's all foreign to me. Am I that technologically impaired? Would anyone care to explain this jargon to me?
I'll be glad to help with some iPod terms
There are three versions of the iPod right now. The three lines are (in order of cost) iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano, iPod Video.
They each come in two (or three) sizes, for how much they can hold.
The shuffle is the least expensive, and has no screen to see what you are playing. It ranges from $69 (for about 120 songs) to $99 (240 songs).
The next line is the iPod Nano, which has three sizes-1, 2, or 4 gigabyte ($149, 199, 249 respectively). These are the smallest of the iPod line that have a screen, and hold 240, 500 or 1000 songs resectively. These can also show your digital pictures, but the screen is a tad small for that (from personal experance).
The final line is the iPod Video, which was released in September I belive. They are the most expensive of the iPod line, but hold the most and do the most. They can play both music and videos, as well as show pictures (and the screen is a good size to view the last two). The one that holds about 7,500 songs costs $299, and the one that holds 15,000 songs is $399.
As for battery life, that has been an issue on iPods. When I got mine for Christmas, I made sure to order the service plan. Much like buying a notebook computer, I feel safer with it. So far I have yet to do anything to my iPod (knock on wood), but if it would have battery issues, I woudl be covered I belive three years (I will search out the info for you).
