Sandestin

I was just there the first weekend of may and it is just beautiful. the whole area is beautiful and if I want to go to the beach, that is where I go. We stayed at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort (got a great deal from AAA) and I was just amazed at how beautiful the property is. The onlt thing we didn't like was the Another Broken Egg Cafe, but if might have just been the service that day.

There are not alot of outrageous teeny boppers there like there is in Panama City. The atmosphere is more towards adults and families. They have alot of great shopping and dining areas, and the beach is beautiful. They have the Silver Sands Outlets and they are wonderful, and even include a Disney Character Warehouse, with discounted Disney items.

If you have any questions, please ask or PM me, I could go on forever.

I totally agree with the PP. I used to live in Panama City and we would go to San Destin just to get away. It is a beautiful place with lots of fun things to do that are family oriented. Have fun!

We have been to the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort also. We've been three years in a row but decided this year to go to DISNEY!!!(First time for all of us) I have two sons, 5and 3, and they love it there. The golfside beach is awesome and great white sand. We rented from VRBO.com once and through the Ocean Reef Resorts the other two times. They both have great condo's to rent on this property and are much cheaper than renting from the resort itself. We've stayed at the Beachside Towers and Westwinds. Both are great for kids with their beach access and pools.

If interested in hearing more, PM me and I will give you some more details....

I would highly recommend staying on the bayside (Baytowne Wharf). Bicycles, canoes, live entertainment all included with room. We are usually in Destin 4-5 times a year & spend at least two of those times @ Baytowne Wharf. Shuttles are always available to take you to the beach.

I have to agree, we stayed in the Grand Sandestin within walking distance of the Village of Baytowne Wharf. We rented a grand 2 bedroom from AAA for $140/night, and actually ended up with a king bed, a queen bed and 2 sleeper sofas and that was within 3 rooms. There were also 3 bathrooms among these 3 rooms a kitchenette in the room with the queen bed a 1 sleeper, a shower and full kitchen in the living room with sleeper sofa and dining area, then the master bedroom had the king bed and large bathroom. We had a view of the Bay, off a large balcony. The village is really nice at night, you can go have a drink without all the drunks.

We go to Sandestin every year and love it! We're going in September for 3 days before we head to Disney for the week. The Bayside is definitely the place to stay. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Destin is my 2nd favorite place is this world!! My sister loved it so much her and my bil moved down to blue mountain beach. I go see her every chance I get as a matter of fact, leaving tomorrow for the weekend. She has been emailing me pics of the water and it is paradise!! You have to go to the disney warehouse as someone mentioned. Great deals and every item is from the parks! We get a lot of our t-shirts here to wear for our trips. We like to go eat seafood out @ Buster's, capn daves, and the crabhouse. Just enjoy the beauty of it all. One of the prettiest beaches in the world!!!
