Sandels at UO/IOA

Is it safe to wear sandels at the parks? They are open toed, and not sure if that would be dangerous. The reason I ask is because of how wet my feet will get in Popeyes river.

I think sandals are safe. The only shoes I've worn to the two parks are flip flops.

My entire family wears flip flops to US/IOA. We have never had any problems.

I wear sandals all the time. I take mine off when I'm seated on Popeyes and place them in the covered bin in the middle. I wear a sport sandal that doesnt slide when wet.

The only thing I found, is that walking in old style flip flops for a long distance is hard. Some people have the newer open sport shoes, which are almost like sneakers. Go for a long walk, and if your feet are tired, it would be better to wear old sneakers the day you're going on Popeye. Once you get in the barge and fasten your seat belt, you can put your shoes and socks in the middle compartment.

Some sandals are more comfy than others. While I never ever wear sandals or flip flops in WDW I do wear them in USO. I have worn Reefs and they have been really comfortable. They are the really cushioned ones, and they are waterproof. I just bought new shoes that I will be wearing to USO in a few weeks. They are Cole Haan and they have a Nike Air bottom and the tops are made out of a breathable mesh...how bad can that be? They looked so good I bought 2 different styles.

I do always bring a large assortment of shoes and sandals as what was comfy one day may not be the next!

Don't get me started on shoes because I :love:

them. I can talk shoes, fashion, spa treatments, hair and beauty products all day.

MyDH and I were on a cruise a year ago. We were on the "Newlywed Game" on stage and in front of a lot of people. We actually won because my DH guessed the amount of shoes I brought with me. Just my shoes for a 1 week cruise was 45 pairs :rotfl2:

I had them all packed in 1 suitcase. Believe it or not I had a hard time deciding on those 45 pairs too!

PS - Wouldn't it be great if we had a seperate "fashion and beauty" forum on the DIS? You know a place where all of us beauty addicts can compare notes on the best anit frizz for hair or self tanners and all that great girlie stuff???
