Sand and Sun ~ Trip Number Ten Was Lots of Fun! Clearwater Beach & YC, August 2013

Never would've thought of getting a steak at ESPN.... Good to know. My DS16 is always looking for a good steak. Lol
I love the stuffed Minnie going along. Very cute!
We always do a relaxing last day too.
Lots of snow here and it's coming from your area........no school tomorrow. :)

It's done! It's booked! I'm broke! :lmao: But happy! :goodvibes

YAY!!! :cool1:
------------------------------------------

Shelly:

I'm a bit behind... I've been planning a trip that's now less than a month away!!!! :crazy2: I have NEVER done that before! The least amount of time I've ever had from booking until leaving for a trip is 7 months. It's been... interesting. :rolleyes1 Definitely has pushed my type A, super-planner personality to its utmost limits!

That is definitely a new one -- planning a trip that is NEXT MONTH!! :faint:

Your cream cheese pretzel looked really good! I had one of those at MK once and it was great! Not too sweet at all. I've also had the jalapeno one at AK and that was good too. Not hot like you would expect, but good.

So how were the Voices of Liberty? I have wanted to see them for years now but we never time it right. I've heard they are wonderful.

They were very good. The kids were bored, but it was a nice break from the heat!

Your food at ESPN looked great! We might go there or BRG next month. Either that or something at DTD. Like you, I REALLY want Ohana, but all that's left is 9:30. If I could get an Ohana ressie, that would make the trip A+ perfect!!! Have you still been looking for openings or did you just decide to pass on it this time? I'm hoping something might come available if I keep checking. When we went back in October, we had a 5:00 ressie (which is the time that they open). We were seated right at 5:00 and there were many empty tables throughout our meal. I'm wondering if we could sweet talk our way in if we showed up at 5:00???

You can show up at Ohana at 5, but so will about 65 other people. Then you are stuck standing there waiting for no-shows. I don't know if I'd chance it!! Keep checking for an ADR. :wizard: You have a bit longer than me!! I look a few times everyday, but still nothing.

Only 3 days left for you!!!!!!!!!!! :yay: Do you think this winter storm is going to affect your flight? I sure hope it doesn't. How much snow are they predicting for you in PA? We haven't seen the first flake yet down here.

I don't think we are supposed to get much snow. It's just so cold!!! :cold:

Yep, very good steak at ESPN!! ::yes::

We don't have any snow. Hasn't snowed in days actually. But it's freezing!! We had a 2 hour delay this morning because of the temps. This is getting old!! :sad2:

Three days out and it's not looking good... :sad2:

Jan 25
Variably cloudy and warmer
65° Lo 49°

Jan 26
Showers possible
67° Lo 55°

Jan 27
Rain and drizzle possible
71° Lo 40°

Jan 28
Sunny and colder
58° Lo 42°

Jan 29
Partly sunny and warmer
68° Lo 53°

It was looking much better a few days ago with some days in the 70's. This looks ugly!!!!

Guess I better go unpack and repack. :confused3

Looking at a local Orlando forecast it doesn't look quite so bad. The one above is Accuweather.

This one is from a local station down there:

Jan 25:
67
47

Jan 26:
71
49

Jan 27:
72
52

Jan 28:
70
48

That's all the further they have forecasted. I sure like the looks of the 28th on this one, 70 degrees. The other one says 58. That's quite a difference. How can they be so different??? :confused3

I hope it gets a little warmer for you ( and me!! 28 days)
DH was saying it was only 40 degrees on his way to work this morning. I told him that was better than 9. Lol
I have such a headcold today and SO GLAD school was cancelled. I am dreading going outside to snowblow. Thankfully DS does most of it.

Okay, back to business....

After dinner we went to the BWI, took some pics, browsed the lobby, and shopped in the little gift shop off the lobby.

I ended up getting this book.

Then we headed back outside.

We were walking by the funnel cake stand and DS12 said – I’d really like to get a funnel cake. And I said – okay, let’s go get one! And he said – That’s what I love about vacation, you are so much nicer at Disney!! :faint: :lmao: I about died it was so dang funny!! :rotfl2:

I wish I would have gotten that on tape. I could enter it in the “Show Your Disney Side” contest!! Apparently my “Disney Side” is nice!!

So I said to him – what do you mean, I am nice to you all the time?? And he said – would you have bought me a $9 funnel cake somewhere at home? Me – um, well no…. Kid does have a point I guess. :confused3:rotfl:

Then we enjoyed some time on the BW and slowly made our way back over to the YC, the long way around.

Continued in next post….

Continued...

We stopped into the Marketplace at the BC one last time. They now had some Halloween merchandise set up!

We got back to the YC in time to watch IllumiNations one last time. Only this time our noisy neighbors to the left must have been out!! Got to enjoy it in silence. :cloud9:

I hope so too!! :wizard: I'm so tired of being cold. Was really looking forward to warmer temps!!

Feel better soon!

I LOVE the BW!!
Yay for watching illuminations in peace.

We love the BW too!! :goodvibes

Exactly. Who isn't nicer at WDW??? :rotfl:

Shelly, Hi! The temps do look a little chilly. My son just got back 2 weeks ago and he was glad that I packed alot of jeans! :lmao::lmao: I've been following your t.report and they make me want to start planning for our October trip! Your family is so adorable.:) I can't believe 3 more days! :thumbsup2

:lmao:

You're nicer at Disney?!! That is hysterical!!!! :rotfl2: I have to agree though. Not that you're nicer at Disney!!! :rotfl: That didn't come out right. What I was trying to say is if paying $9 for a Funnel Cake at home makes one a mean mom, then I am in the Hateful category, aka: the "Have you lost your ever loving mind" category!!!:thumbsup2

You had such a nice last evening! I'm so glad that you were able to watch Illuminations without the loud butt neighbors. Yapping people during fireworks is RUDE and obnoxious.

Favorite pic of the whole trip----- the one of the boys leaning over the rail backwards!!!!!! They looks like they enjoyed their vacation thoroughly!!

I'd go with the local forecast. I've never found those national forecasts to be as accurate. Either way, looks like you're going to need some jackets at least. It will still be awesome though!

Kids say the craziest stuff! :lmao: Although true... :rolleyes1 I would never buy my DD a $9 funnel cake ANYWHERE except Disney! Why is that???? :upsidedow

Your popcorn, drinks and a show from the balcony looks like the perfect ending to your trip! And a leisurely stroll on the Boardwalk doesn't sound bad either. I'd love to be doing that right now!

Btw, I have no idea why I thought you were flying out on this evening. I know the envelope of doom comes the night before. I have no idea what I was thinking when I said that in an earlier comment. Lately my brain is not firing on all cylinders! :crazy2:

oooh Rinky--- it's ok, you have vacation brain!!!! Congrats BTW! Sounds like a fun trip!!:cool1:

I agree with what Rinky says though Shelly----- national forecasts are dumb. They are never right!

My mind must be in the same place as Rinky's because I was thinking that you were leaving that day too. Can I use the 'I have vacation on my mind" explanation too? ;)

What a nice way to spend your last day at Disney! I've had ESPN on my radar for a while but we never try it 'cause they don't take ADRs. It looks delicious though.

That kiddo of your's sure cracks me up! It's funny how we parents are so much nicer at Disney. :rotfl:

Geesh!! I was going to say -- I've only seen you once outside of WDW. I must have been a real jerk!! :rotfl:

No, it's okay. I know what you meant! ;)

But yes, $9 for a funnel cake!! Funny how Disney makes you think that is a good deal. At home he'd be lucky if I'd pay $3 for it! :faint: :lmao: So I guess I do see his point!

It was a nice evening. Especially since the next door neighbors were finally not home!! :goodvibes

Glad you enjoyed the pics! :)

Yep, I just took out a few of the shorts and replaced them with jeans. :sad2: Also added long sleeves for the boys and DH and a few lightweight sweaters for me.

So glad you have enjoyed the TR! :goodvibes Sounds like you better get planning for October! :thumbsup2

I hope you are right and it's awesome!! I'm a little nervous between the WL and the weather. :scared:

Kids say the craziest stuff! :lmao: Although true... :rolleyes1 I would never buy my DD a $9 funnel cake ANYWHERE except Disney! Why is that???? :upsidedow

We are brainwashed by Disney. ::yes::

Your popcorn, drinks and a show from the balcony looks like the perfect ending to your trip! And a leisurely stroll on the Boardwalk doesn't sound bad either. I'd love to be doing that right now!

It was the perfect ending!! :cloud9:

It's okay!! We'll blame it on vacation brain! :rotfl:

Sure, why not?!! :lmao:

You should give it a try! :thumbsup2 I like the fact that there are no reservations needed.

That kiddo of your's sure cracks me up! It's funny how we parents are so much nicer at Disney. :rotfl:

I know, me too!! :lmao: I had to explain to him that if I was nice and "spendy" like that all the time then there wouldn't be any WDW trips!!

Lol at your DS, it really is just the Happiest Place on Earth that makes us want to buy our kids $9 funnel cakes!

I hope the weather gets warmer for you, sending lots of warm vibes across the pond for you :)

Looks like a lovely time your family had, so funny about the funnel cake. Sounds like something my sons would have said on vacation.

My oldest son went to WDW on Jan. 2, it was the first time he had been there since before Epcot was built. The funny thing is when be returned home he was given an all expenses paid trip to WDW. One of his stores was in the top ten in the nation for sales! The manager of said store also got the same trip for her & her two daughters. The accommodations are BWI, I was so thrilled for my son. He can't believe it had been so long since he had been to Disney & now he will be taking his second trip Valentine's Day.
