Hi ya gals! Once again, I'm behind. Got a good excuse this time though. I made it to round 2 of the Disney Parks Moms Panel search and have been working on my answers and video. Both have been submitted and I hope that they don't mind my thick Southern drawl. Now, I'm catching up on everything.

I hope that Rinky didn't encounter any more run ins with Jodi's maybe-relatives or armadillos and made it safe and sound.

Shelly, I hate that your meal wasn't that great. I understand what you're saying though. It feels weird to be sitting in a restaurant where the wait staff is dressed up, some of the guests are and then in comes the sweaty tank top wearing dude.

Thank goodness SAB wasn't as crowded and stupid crazy like it was in the past. It actually didn't look that bad in the pictures.

Thanks Jodi! I've applied every gosh darn year and have never made it past the first application. For some reason, I wasn't too nervous about the video or answering the questions. I figured that all I could do was be myself. I ain't gonna try to be something that I ain't. Oops, I mean, I certainly couldn't pretend to be someone other than myself.

You know that if I ever get around to (how come no one up North ever says they're gettin' 'round to doing something? Are we in the South really THAT lazy that we have to profess what we're getting ready to do?) anyway--- if I ever get round to having a reality show or a blog or what have you, I'll be sure to let you know because honestly we might be the only ones there. And then I'd get cancelled. But not for lack of viewership. Oh no. I'd get myself cancelled due to dumb. Me, I mean. I am seriously lacking brain cells sometimes.

Dang. Least I admit it. I can fully embrace my limitations.

I do NOT know why we say that..or 'fixin to' do whatever: I am fixin' to cook dinner, or I am fixin' to run to the store. It's definitely a Southern 'thang'...that's another one...how many people down her cannot say 'thing'..that one bothers me sometimes to hear....but, get around to, and Fixin' to, are just Southern Staples of vocabulary!

hahaha!! Ok, I thought that one was mainly from where I grew up~ very country place...whew! I wasn't even going to put that in print! Have y'all seen the video about 'bless her heart'? someone posted it on FB a while back about how down South we always say that about someone when we think something 'tragic' about someone else. Really they had it where they were just being really catty and rude, but we do say it a lot. And not being ugly-it's just the phrase of choice for me any time something has happened to anyone or I feel sorry for them~another one(and my one grandmother use to say it a lot, especially to kids)...God love it!!!! That was either because you were hurt/upset or just pitiful. The things we say.
And accents!! I think I am getting over mine, till I go places like Disney~I get pegged every time. But the crazy thing is no one really ever asks me if I am from Texas?! If they ask where we're from and I say Texas, they say oh, yeah! Ok!! But when guessing, that's not what they say!! I think I get North Carolina more than Texas...not sure if that's better or worse~ as I have never been there!! They say my hubs sounds like Texas but I don't. Kinda embarrasses me~ I just think Oh wow! Do they think I sound hick? or just very southern?! I guess Shelly could tell you~she has heard me talk!! And I didnt think Shelly had a super Northern accent~hubs has lots of family from Penn, NJ, and they sound like it~she doesn't.

Too bad your dinner was just okay. I love Italian and had thought we might go there someday. Of course, we don't know when we'll be at WDW again. We're back on track to go to DL in March. Just need to book airfare. We'll fly to Vegas and drive - better flight times and prices and we can book a package with a couple nights in Vegas for less than just flights to LA.

Glad you enjoyed the pool without big crazy crowds. It is very loud at most of the pools in the afternoon when they have the activities going on!

Sheree~ Your accent isn't that thick either! How do y'all do that?! I mean, you have one, but it's not crazy or anything...there is a lady at the hair salon that is from Missouri and she definitely talks differently than we do here~ and the phrases she uses also give her away!

Oh and that shirt- I'm with the band made me laugh bc my DS used to love that show- I'm with the Band on DisneyXD. Do you know what show I'm talking about? It was kinda funny better than some of the other tween shows. lol

So, now, backing up a bit. I am glad the boys got to spend some time in SAB without the insanity that goes on during the day. I'm sure it was a nice way to end the day!

It was a nice change considering how crazy SAB was when we stayed at the BC before.

I really thought the YC was nice when we went over. It was pretty. And for whatever reason when you go walking down that looooooong hall to get to the gift shop---- I really wanted to run down it. You know what I'm saying??? Something in me was just urging me to break out in a full run, shrieking and singing or something. Maybe it's because it's so proper in there. I think it's more proper than the GF if I'm being honest. Kinda like if you went to your Grampa's house and you knew you should be super quiet bc he was in the back smoking a pipe or sleeping or something and the little kid in you wants to just let it allllllllllll hang out??? THAT'S how I felt. Almost giddy, like.


See, I don't get that proper feeling from the YC. It is definitely a lot more relaxed than say the BC lobby, and I really appreciate it.

Of course I don't find the GF as stuffy as some people say it is either!!

That is really cute that they give the kids meals in the sand pail! Love that!!

Oh and yes, I will admit to being a little out of control last night. But I can't help it, armadillos make me giggle. They just have this dumb, confused look on their faces, bless their hearts. I mean, no one ever says that their favorite animal is an armadillo. There's a reason for that.

Once we were driving down the road here and a dead one was on the side of the road, lying on it's back and someone had stuck a beer can in it's paws. Sad, but you just know I had to get out and take a dang picture of it. IDK what happened to the picture but it was on our fridge for many years.

Ahhh, the things that amuse me.

Your dinner at ll Mulino sounds interesting (Did I get the name correct? I've never heard of it.) Is this restaurant located in the YC?

I loved your pics of SAB. My boys love it there and always ask me when we are staying there so they can go to SAB again. I'm glad it wasn't so crowded and crazy for you this time.

Yes, Il Mulino. It is in the Swan. About a 5 minute walk from the YC. There are a lot of restaurants in the Swan and Dolphin that most people probably don't even know about. Of course, they are not Disney owned and don't take Disney gift cards or the DDP.

Thanks! It was a good time to go to the pool. No screaming kids into a megaphone and all the other stuff that goes on during the day!

Have y'all seen the video about 'bless her heart'? someone posted it on FB a while back about how down South we always say that about someone when we think something 'tragic' about someone else. Really they had it where they were just being really catty and rude, but we do say it a lot. And not being ugly-it's just the phrase of choice for me any time something has happened to anyone or I feel sorry for them~another one(and my one grandmother use to say it a lot, especially to kids)...God love it!!!! That was either because you were hurt/upset or just pitiful. The things we say.

You might like it if you love Italian. The food was decent. But maybe more for a cooler weather trip. Just very heavy for the heat we were dealing with.

Are you going to go for it and do DL in March??? Too bad we couldn't time it better, I think we are going to go in June! Waiting on flights to come out...

Yeah, most of the WDW pools are loud in the afternoon with the games and music, but SAB just seems especially loud & crazy!

To be clear......., neither I nor anyone I know says "fidna" for real! I don't know where I heard it, maybe some parody of rednecks on TV or something. But now DH and I will say it when we're just being silly. There are probably lots of things we say that really are southern and we're not goofing around!

I don't know how much of an accent I have. I talk pretty fast, so I definitely don't have a drawl, but I imagine I do sound Southern compared to our Northern friends. Not like Swamp People Cajun though!

I have seen that "Bless Your Heart" video. Maybe it did come from Jodi, like Shelly was talking about. So funny and so true!

I can't wait to see how I like it!! You are right, it is a very different theme than I usually like. But, there is still the sand and beach, so maybe it will be okay! We will see. DH is really looking forward to it!

Hi Shelly! It looks like we will be in Disney World the same time in January. I'm going with my grandma. When went at the same time last year and it was a blast. The parks were practically empty!

I'm enjoying your trip report so far! I can't believe how much your boys have grown since I first started on the Dis in 2008!
