Sanaa

Has anyone been post-Covid? How is the table spacing in there? We have it booked as one of our few indoor dining restaurants for our March trip and was wondering if it feels spaced out enough.

Went in Dec during COVID and spacing was fine. Got a window seat and started off with bread service as usual. Good times!

We have a ressie here in April. My husband LOVES Indian food and I think he will really enjoy this meal. I am such a picky eater and hope I can find something I will like. It seems that butter chicken is a popular first timer meal. Looking at the menu, I just see butter chicken on the kids menu. Is that ok for me to order?

It's on the regular menu, just a bit hidden:

Potjie Inspired
Choose one from the Journey - Goan Seafood Curry, Butter Chicken, or Braised Beef. Choose one from the Harvest (Plant-based) - Chickpea Wit, Aloo Masala, or Cilantro-Coconut Vegetables. Served with scented Basmati Rice

$28.00

I didn’t see that. Thank you. Next question... I don’t know that I would care for any of those options included with that meal. So would I be able to just order the butter chicken off the kids meal or is that a no no. I don’t love the thought of paying $28 for something I may not eat very much of.

Official Disney policy is you need to be 9 years old or under to order from the kids menu. Often, this rule is bent for the teen/pre-teen age group. Adults have reported mixed success—sometimes told yes, sometimes no, sometimes able to order kids menu food but a larger portion at adult prices. Basically, it is up to the staff at the restaurant at the time. YMMV.

How is the breakfast there? It looks like its QS, so no ADR needed, but we were thinking of stopping there before going to Animal Kingdom for rope drop (we'll be driving). Is that doable?

I read here at one point that you can get 2 "Journey" options for an extra charge. So you could do double butter chicken I imagine (for an extra charge).

You can also add more breads to the bread service to make it more of a full meal for yourself, in lieu of an entree.

I doubt they would... but maybe? IMO the portions at Sanaa are pretty small already so I imagine the kid's meal is even smaller.

If you didn't want potatoes, chickpeas, or veggies with it, I bet they would double the rice or the chicken for you. But I would really recommend trying the potatoes - they are delicious and very entry-level Indian food :)

I don't know if it's reopened, but we love Boma too! Maybe not since it was buffet, but definitely worth it if/when it reopens!!

We ate there last night and enjoyed some of our leftover naan from the bread service at breakfast this morning! The two of us were seated at a table for six, which seemed strange, then I realized that almost all the tables were 6-tops with one or two 4-tops. All the tables were widely spaced, too. I love the butter chicken (booked Sanaa for that specifically) and enjoyed the Aloo Masala with it, which turned out to be potatoes, green peas and tomatoes in yummy sauce. DH had steak, which he enjoyed as well.
