We are staying a AKL for the first time this trip, and we have never been to any of the AKL restaurants. We are thinking of dining at Sanaa, what do you enjoy there? The only thing I hear about is the bread service. Do some just go there for that??

I've eaten there 3 times - absolutely love it. Seeing the animals is the highlight. If you can't see them while seated - you can go outside after dinner. Besides the bread service, I've enjoyed the Potjie with the butter chicken, and enjoyed the braised beef another time. and all the harvest items are fantastic - our family got different ones and so tried all 3 - Aloo Masala being the best. Also the Biryani is very good - I got the vegetable one. Dessert - Serradura was fantastic. Also tried the Kheer because my friend loved rice pudding (which I don't) - but it was good - just not my favorite. My friend loved loved it. Drinks - Blood Orange Margarita, Spicy Poblano, and Watermelon Margarita - favorite was Blood Orange - but all were good - even the Watermelon one. Enjoy!

The bread service is fabulous. I also enjoy the seafood curry. I find it very spicy but love dipping the bread into that curry sauce.
There’s an African shield dessert that never fails to entertain my little one (at ages 2, 3, and 4) as she can paint it ...and herself.
The drum birthday celebrations are also fun.

We LOVED the bread service but all of the entrees we ordered were very underwhelming and bland compared to the real thing--if you are used to good indian and african food, it may be disappointing from an authenticity standpoint, though people who are trying it out for the first time might like it. I'd absolutely recommend it for drinks and apps though!

Bread service is amazing. Order 2!!! I had a biryani dish that was quite good. Won’t say it was fantastic, but I did enjoy it.

Their Butter Chicken is great! The bread service is outstanding! I'm not an adventurous eater but love love love Sanaa.

I was wondering about this. We have both locally, so I'm curious to see how Sanaa will compare. Hope I'm not disappointed.

Let me second the Butter Chicken, my wife loves it. We both enjoy the bread service as well. I've been really impressed by Sanaa.

If you enjoy Indian inspired food, it is very good.
The bread service is amazing, but the rest of the menu is also very good.
Butter chicken, Spicy Durban Shrimp , lamb shank have all been good.

It's good, but definitely not as good as the Indian spots in my area. A tad watered down in flavor. I think the bread service is tasty but overrated, especially compared to local joints, but know a lot of people don't have access to good Indian food so it's unique.

Butter chicken is a great entry level Indian dish that I always recommend for a first timer. I LOVE it and theirs is a solid option.

The curries of Africa.....taste very similar to your local Indian restaurant.....are what it's offered at Sanaa.

We avoid the splurge of the bread service, but it is very, VERY, popular.

Butter chicken 'resembles' chicken tikka masala.

This place is my 'hidden gem' at Disney (that is not a BBQ Slaw hotdog @ Casey's when the piano is being played).

For lunch I like the Tandoori Chicken (I used to like the Tandoori shrimp also, but I don't see it on the current menu). For dinner, I'd just probably get the bread service.

If you have a picky eater . I would not recommend. First it was back in 2018 I booked us than a month before the trip they announced akl refurb so our seats were next to covered windows :( oh well nothing I can do. We had the bread service which was the only saving grace. I got the steak and asked the waiter for just mashed potatoes since I'm picky. My husband got the butter chicken. My steak cake out over cooked (med rare got well) I'm not one to complain so didn't say anything. The potatoes were green.. I tasted them and it was not pleasant. Honestly I don't even remember what the waiter said was mixed in but when someone mentions they are picky and just want plain potatoes.. it was a bit of a shock. My husband said his food was ok.

We won't be back. But might have just been a off night. If anything hit the lounge and get the bread. :)

Sanaa has been one of my top places to go on our down day for great food and to see the resort. My family loves the bread service and normally split that with 1 or 2 entrees for whole table and plenty of food. Last I went we got the bread service and the butter chicken with the spiced potato and was very good. My 3 year old got the pizza which was surprisingly good and a nice standard dish to keep him happy.

Has anyone been post-Covid? How is the table spacing in there? We have it booked as one of our few indoor dining restaurants for our March trip and was wondering if it feels spaced out enough.

Haven't yet been, but just researching it for our short trip next month, double check the menu. Looks like they've cut it down quite a bit (like many others have)
