Sanaa or Satu'li Canteen on First Day?

Probably sounds like an unusual comparison, but here's the details: getting to Kidani around 1pm on arrival day, and plan to enjoy the pool, maybe a walk until our room is ready. Then plan to end up at Animal Kingdom that evening at 7:30 for FPs for Na'vi River, Kilimanjaro, then maybe Rivers of Light. So, we're debating whether to have a nice TS meal at Sanaa before heading over (the bread service looks great), or since Satu'li is new and unique, try it out after we get to Pandora. Are we crazy not to try Sanaa, just so we can instead eat food that "looks" unusual? Given the rest of our schedule that week, we may not be able to try either one later on.

Satuli. The bread service is great but the prices are a bit much and the rest of the food is meh, imo. Satuli was delicious and we eat there every trip. We probably will never go back to Sanaa. Plus, it puts you right in the park and with mobile ordering you can skip the line for food.

I would do Sanaa. The food and atmosphere are wonderful. Satul'i is fine if you want QS. The food didn't really look that unusual.

How about both? We arrived at Kidani this week at about 12:30 pm. Went downstairs to Sanaa right away and had a fabulous lunch in the lounge. No wait. No reservations. We had bread service, chicken tandoori sandwich, shrimp tandoori sandwich. The kids all had butter chicken. It was amazing. I expect it will be the best meal this trip.

Got our room at three. Got settled. Headed over to AK to get our APs squared away. Enjoyed dinner and evening at Pandora. Satu 'li Canteen was really tasty. Not as good as Sanaa, but a worthwhile experience. We will eat there again before the end of this trip.

That sounds interesting. I’ll need to checkin first to activate our dining plan. You mentioned you ate lunch at the Sanaa lounge — the main dining room is open 11:30-3 as well, correct?

Yes. When we arrived the restaurant had an hour long wait, but you can eat in the lounge from the full menu. It was family friendly. Nice seating. We sat at a long, granite table. We are five. A party of two sat a few seats over at the same big table. It was private enough. Not like communal seating. They also had a few four tops in the Lounge. I loved it there.

Satuli is very good. I did the tofu bowl, but the chicken bowl is much better. Atmosphere is very comfortable and was not crowded on either visit.

We enjoy Sanaa but part of that is the chance to enjoy the animals and decor. Since you are staying there those perks are gone. I would try Satu'li. It is unique and different. It is served in real china so it's a step up for QS. Try the desserts, they are almost too pretty to eat.

Another vote for Satuli. Try the fish - it's delicious. The full bread service at Sanaa was super tasty, but we were not impressed with the rest of our food there.

Sanaa is my must do every trip. That bread service is LIFE I tell ya! On my arrival day next month we are going to eat at Sanaa for lunch- probably just bread service and cocktails. We are doing Satuli that night.

Sanaa, it was delicious and service was great. Satuli is fine for quick service but the food isn't that unusual. It's just a crowded, noisy quick service like the rest, which a little better food than some. I prefer a nice, relaxing dinner. Also, I've read a lot of people like the desserts but I didn't like either of them.

You’re the second to mention that, and I like it! I will at least make a lunch reservation for my party of 9 for now, and plan on Sanaa for lunch and Satuli in the evening using online ordering (if integrated into the Dining Plan by June 2018).

Sanaa better. Boma is still great for breakfast but if I had to pick one, it would be Sanaa.
