We had a very enjoyable dinner at this new restaurant in Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village last night and I've got to say that the entire experience was perfect. The restaurant is beautiful, the service was excellent and we really enjoyed the food. The place has personality. With so many Disney restaurants racing toward uniform blandness (cost cutting and dining plan in my view) it was great to go to a place with a little adventure. I'll be back.

Good to know. We'll be staying at AKL in December and are planning on trying it out. Would you mind sharing what your party ordered? Thanks! :)

Also, is it on the dining plan? And how many TS credits?

It is on the DP and it is one credit. We are trying to see if we want to try it out but the menu seemed a bit to exotic for us. We currenty have reservations at Boma and since it has such a variety may stay with that AR but we may change our mind when we arrive.....

Glad to share what we had. We started with three kinds of bread and three different spreads...fantastic. My wife had fish wrapped in a banana leaf and I had a combo of chicken and short ribs--each in a different sauce with rice. Dessert was the specialty--some sort of creme...yummy

Thanks for the good review, John....I will be having lunch at Sanaa one week from today.:thumbsup2

We had lunch there on 5/7...my wife had the burger and I had the sustainable fish on the naan bread. For apps, we did the roasted cauliflower and the lamb kefta. The cauliflower was ok and was served with a tomato sauce that had some spice to it and the lamb kefta seemed like "meatballs" with a sweet and spicy taste to it. Both of the sandwiches were served on the naan bread (really good) along with lettuce and a mixture of tomatoes/red onion. I can't even recall what we had for dessert.

It's a nice atmosphere...great views sitting by the windows of the animals. Staff was very friendly. My wife and I were pretty much a fixture at the bar enjoying a drink about every night. Stop in and say hi to Seth, Bill, and Arlene behind the bar for us.

Sounds good to me! I think we will give it a try, for sure. :thumbsup2

This is good to know. I just made an adr for my family in May. I think my kids would really enjoy the experience. I have a dd6, a ds8, and a ds13. :goodvibes

My DH is not a very adverturous eater (at all), and we LOVED Sanaa. It was something completely different for us. I highly recommend it. We went for lunch when we were on the DxDP, so we knew we would have other food that day if we truly disliked it. Boy, were we surprised! Check out my dining report for a full blow-by-blow of our experience.

Our first dinner at Sanaa, we loved the food, but thought the atmosphere got quite loud when they began doing fairly raucous birthday celebrations - something that seemed a bit out of place at a restaurant of this sort. At the time, the place was just recently opened, and perhaps things have been dialed back a bit.

Any recent guests experience anything like this at dinner? (I've not seen this at lunch, only dinner.)

We just returned from our trip and ate at Sanaa twice.
It is VERY GOOD!!!!!

It is on the DDP and is 1 TS.
I had the tandori chicken the first night which is out of this world. It has a bit of spice to it, so I like to order the Naan bread with it to cut some of the heat.
My husband had the short rib, and shrimp in green curry sauce trio (with rice).
He said it was good.

For dessert he got the sampler (chocolate cake sliver, creme, and passion fruit Kulfi. All great flavors, but the portion size was way too small.
I got the sesame-orange cake with the passion fruit Kulfi. I have to say this is one of the BEST desserts I have ever had at Disney. It is light and left me wanting more!

Our second visit. I had the trio with rice, short ribs and curry chicken. It was fantastic! I again went for the sesame-orange cake and was not one bit disappointed.
My husband had the Tandori shrimp and liked it a lot. He also got the sesame-orange cake and loved it.

This restaurant IMO is one of the BEST at Disney. We had Danielle as a waitress on the second night and she was great. The whole staff is nice. The safari is great to keep the kids occupied too.
My son loved the grilled chicken dinner with green beans and rice pilaf. I think it was one of the healthier kids choices that I have seen on the menu. The chicken was freshly grilled.

Hope this review helps those of you thinking of trying it. A MUST:)

Thank you so much for posting this review! Sanaa does sound amazing! How large are the portions?

Just had to share, I cleaned out my User CP last night & am so glad I did. I reposted anything I wanted a new perspective on. This was one of them. You all have made my mind up. DS & I WILL be eating here on our next trip.
