First time booking ADRs with the new change in the reservation system that allows you to see multiple times. Hopped on on day 60 at 545am CST and for the first time ever was unable to secure a reservation at Sanaa for the time I was looking. Yes, I was a little late, and yes, I was looking for day 1 of our trip, which I understand can be problematic. What is interesting, at least to me, is that for dinner times while they show availability at 825, 840, 855 and 910, the grayed out unavailable times are only 5pm, 6pm, 7pm.

Is that just reflective of the new system showing no times between 5-7pm? or are dinner seatings only on the hour? or is there some sort of event that evening that i'm unaware of? Just seeing if there is any insight with this new system as i navigate through it.

That seems pretty unusual to me, especially for a Thursday night mid-Aug. Since they open at 5 for dinner, that's almost like the first 2 seatings of guests are booked already with the 5, 6, and 7 o'clock hours booked. I think you are navigating just fine, but the availability just isn't there for you when you want it. It can't hurt to keep monitoring. I haven't seen anything that would indicate an event that night, but they do happen. Hope you find the time slot you need - we really enjoy our dinners at Sanaa.....

Thanks for the reassurance. we booked it the following day, but our last 3 trips, our tradition is early flight, walk around the animal trails at AK and do Flight of Passage, before a dinner at Sanaa and an early return to our resort. Hoping we can continue the tradition!

i tried using the ADR finder on touring plans, but it seems like the update is not compatible with their old application. So i'll just keep hunting!

Not sure what was going on with Saana. I looked Sunday and Monday and it did not come up. Tried Monday night just to see and there were loads! Booked 6.50 27th August. Amended time to 8pm this afternoon. Times were not hourly.
My MDE and website have been playing up tho. Just keep checking. Good luck!

nope, just 5. That's why i think i'm missing something. We have gone annually since 2010, and the only one i have ever struggled with is Sci Fi in the first 3-4 days of a trip. So I'm just perplexed with this one!

I find that odd.
My 60 days was last week and I could basically have my pick of any restaurant any time and that's been the case since "C". Prior to "C" it was a struggle to get ANYTHING 6 months out.

i know right?? in the past, there were a few times i could not get BOG for dinner, but then realized it was a party day and hence no dinner reservations. Here, i'm struggling why Sanaa is so popular on a Thursday evening!

I heard that odd number groups can be challenging? Can you try booking for 6? I have a family of 4 though so this is all hearsay

It could just be people prioritizing the hours before sunset, when animals might still be viewable from their tables

Maybe it's AK specific? I wasn't able to book a dinner reservation for Yak/Yeti 60 days out for our trip because it closed at 6pm when we booked, so the latest they had was 4:45pm. Closer to our trip (I had mouse dining alert set) they dropped new park hours for most of the parks and they extended AK hours to 7pm the night we were at AK and Yak and Yeti released dinner reservations as late as 6:45pm so I was able to make a later one.
