Hi there! We are on the Oct 31, 2025 sailing in and out of San Juan. I've read all the threads about SJ hotels and there has been some transportation info, but not exactly what I'm looking for. Sounds like taxis might be a little sketch/scary. Are there ample Uber drivers around? Usually we do the hotel that has the DCL transfers, but sounds like the Caribe might be kind of less than so I'm looking at other places to stay that would require transportation from the airport and to the port, but want to be sure we can Uber easily.

I would not consider the taxis to be sketch/scary. Puerto Rico has a rather well regulated taxi service in the SJ area. Here is a resource: https://sanjuanpuertorico.com/taxis/.

Uber is plentiful and usually a little less expensive than a taxi. You can simulate an Uber ride on the app to get an idea of how many vehicles are in a general area.

I've used both taxis and Uber without issue.

Not sure why a total stranger driving an Uber would feel more secure than a taxi. Have used both taxis and Uber in Puerto Rico and neither was scary or sketchy at all nor were the buses for that matter.

Ubers are plentiful. We were able to get one in less than 10 minutes when we debarked the Magic in San Juan.

Uber has more safety tools in the app-you can call for help if you need, you can send your ride to someone else to let them track you, you can also track your own ride to see where you are, etc.

(I don't personally have an issues with taxi or Uber, just pointing out why some people might feel safer in an Uber)
