San Juan: Hyatt Place vs Embassy

We are a family of five (2 adults, kids 4, 8 and 11) and will be staying in San Juan for 3 nights after our cruise. I would be open to other hotels but as a family of 5 there aren’t many options and budget was a huge factor. We currently have two hotels booked and trying to decide between them:

• Hyatt Place San Juan/City Center
• Embassy Suites San Juan Hotel and Casino, Carolina

Looking for opinions from prior travelers. Important to note:

• Cost is equal
• We will not have a car
• Priority will be relaxing by pool and/or beach (at least 1 beach day)
• We don’t plan to do official guided excursions but do plan to Uber/Lyft to Old San Juan to explore and eat 1 day
• Free breakfast is important and would like to know which breakfast is better. Also, would probably take advantage of evening reception (Is this available at Embassy only)
• Proximity or options for dinner
