San Diego Zoo hotel closeby?

I am trying to plan a short visit to San Diego Zoo. Is there a hotel within walking distance? I am having trouble finding this information online. (one site will say .2 miles, the hotels site will say 1.5 miles).

I'm not sure if there are hotels within walking distance because the zoo seems somewhat isolated and not right in the middle of things. Maybe the closest hotels have some sort of shuttle to take you over.

ok, I will probably have a car. I was thinking, here I go to the Bronx Zoo, and you don't stay in a hotel to walk to that Zoo either.

I know the resource from where you have to find out hotel nearby san diego zoo.The san diego zoo is the good place to visit . It's the one most popular place of the san diego.

There really are no good hotels directly near Balboa Park, which is where the zoo is located. Plan on staying somewhere else in the SD area and driving.

The best hotel close to the Zoo is "Holiday Inn Express Downtown". It is located right off the 163 and Ash, very close to the zoo. The hotel is very clean and service is excellent! They even offer a free Hot American Breakfast each morning!
