If you ever get a chance, go to the San Diego Wild Animal Park. It is one of the finest parks I've been to. Here are a few shots I was lucky to get. If only I had 'L' glass for this trip.
And you are right about The wild animal park. I haven't been there is several years, but it's wonderful. I am originally from SD and my aunt is the hospital manager at the SD Zoo and The Wild Animal park, so we get nice backstage tours! We come out that way about once a year.
I love the lighting on #3. We went to the SD zoo last August and it was amazing. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the Wild Animal Park but will for sure next time. Great job!
My parents live a stones throw from the WAP. This past summer I took the "photo safari" there. A fantastic adventure for all you photogs out there. So as to not jack the original poster's thread, if you're interested in some of the photos I have taken there, you can click here:

hey haven't seen a post from you for a while, you must be settled in the land of ginormous spiders
2 places i really want to go sometime are the Monterey aquarium and sd zoo( i have simple desires )
we are getting a new elephant exhibit soon at cleveland zoo which i guess will be a big deal since most zoos are phasing them out do to room etc...a couple of the same animals from the "northcoast" i took with my tamron teleconverter 1.4 which i was impressed with (as long as i use a tripod)
and who knew i guess cleveland has one of the larger primate collections...
Haha, ya! My parents were out for the holidays from San Diego, so I haven't been on much. Oddly enough, I came across this little guy a few days ago in our gardening bin. It's closely resembles a Black Widow, but is 4X more poisonous. He's the 3rd most venemous spider in th world.
