In early Dec. we will be arriving at the San Diego airport late afternoon, and then spending 3 nights, so that we can visit Sea World and the Zoo. Then we are going to DLR. After that, we return to SD to spend the night and fly home the next morning. I have spent way too much time looking at different hotels, and can't decide. We will be renting a car, and I don't want to be stuck driving through a maze of streets looking for our hotel, especially when we're tired. I would like to keep the price tag under $110 per night, and have free parking, breakfast and wi fi.

Is CA the same as Florida, that you can't rent a room with just a king sized bed for 2 parents and a young child? It seems as though the price of 2 queens if often far higher than 1 king.

I want us to have a good first night, somewhere inviting and enjoyable. I think my daughter will finally realize that she has to wait a few days before going to DLR, so I want her to like where we are staying (fortunately, she is very adaptable).

I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks, Pam

industry wide, Kings are for a max of 2 guests unless you are buying a suite that sleeps additional people. you might be able to get a cot for the child if you go for a single Q room.

when I worked for a large chain, we did NOT permit cots in our K rooms. but we did in all our other rooms.. whether they held one bed or 2.

We often stay at the Holiday Inn Bayside. On their website I input 2 adults and 1 child and it does allow selection of a King bed.

They do have a package with breakfast included as well as a King with kids bunks but it is quite expensive at around $130-$150 rack rate. Select Entertainment Card and you'll often get a rate of around $75 for King or 2 Queens without breakfast.

I am a Priceline junkie. We stayed at the Omni in July for $88 a night. Let me know if you want tips for priceline and I can message you or can give you some tips on here!
