Hi everyone.
We are planning a 3 night stay in San Diego, mainly just for Sea World, possible the Zoo Safari.

There seems to be a myriad of hotels and locations. We have been there in 2007 and stayed on Coronado Island at the marriot I think, but now looking at possibly the Residence Inn Mission Valley, which has 2 room suites, including breakfast for $210 per night.

Wondering where everyone else has stayed and and where you might stay next time? We now prefer rooms that have more than 2 queens, but would settle for that if the place was unbelievable.

I have looked on the other DIS pages, and Tripadvisor, but prefer the Aussie Disboards referrals to add to the mix.

Hey Marvel :goodvibes

We stayed at Hyatt Regency Mission Bay 3 years ago (we found it on Hotwire), it is across the road from Seaworld :thumbsup2

It was extremely clean, it is a resort but we didn't get to use the pools (was a bit cold when we were there), we didn't get any room service when we were there so I can't comment on that.

We were tossing up on returning to this hotel when we were looking for somewhere to go the other week, the only thing that turned us off was the weather in San Diego at the time :)

I've been a couple of times for business and stayed at the Hilton Homewood Suites. This was great - for my purposes - huge rooms, cheap price, free parking, very comfortable, bfast included - BUT - not really a holiday place and not near anything. Had to get in the car to get down to La Jolla and Del Mar.

Lowes Coronado Beach looked nice - but I haven't been a guest.

In 2006 I stayed in the weirdest B&B - up in Balboa Park - right across the road from the park and we walked to the Zoo and through the mission area. The Balboa Park Inn. We were in a funky monkey room (The Jungle Nook) for 2 ppl with a spa bath (yes it was jungley with monkeys everywhere) - we liked it, location was brilliant, really fun concept but it is NOT a hotel.

Thanks, checking these out now. Hyatt seem quite reasonably priced for a Hyatt. But only has two queen rooms, which may be an issue.

Homewood looks nice and ranked #4 on Tripadvisor, but booked out for our dates!
