I am heading out to southern California in September 2014 for a week and wish to visit Disneyland for 2 days and sea world for 1. Other than that, we haven't really decided what else we would like to see/do. We will be using a timeshare through RCI. Would oceanside or Carlsbad be a good middle point to stay for the week to be between the 2 areas?

Carlsbad and Oceanside would be fine for a trip to Legoland but there is a good amount of traffic in that area so you are looking at around 45 minutes of travel to San Diego proper and about and hour, hour fifteen to Disneyland.

You might be able to take the Coaster train to the Old Town station which is a short cab ride to Seaworld. It's a pretty ride. And then the Pacific Surfliner train to the Anaheim station and the ART shuttle to Disneyland.

But it's still a good commute.
