I've eaten at San Angel Inn several times and have gotten really bad (sometimes lukewarm or cold) food and bad/slow service every time. Anytime someone asks about it here on the DIS I give it a bad review. However, I notice that Allears has a new menu listed. It looks pretty good. Now I'm from east Texas where we have ALOT of Tex-Mex restaurants, local authentic mom and pop places, plus all the fast food Taco Bell and Taco Bueno type places. We eat at all of them and enjoy all three types depending on the mood we are in, but know San Angel Inn is supposed to be more of the southern/coastal Mexican cruisine. Again we have alot of mom and pop type places like that here too, so are used to that type food. However, San Angel Inn has never been good to us. With the new menu should I give it one more try?:confused3 Is it any better now than it was a couple of years ago?

My experience there has never been stellar, either. I go for the ambiance, and for me, that's worth it. I never hold really high expectations for the food.
