We ate there this past July and enjoyed our meal. Even our ds(4) was able to find something he liked banana: ). The atmosphere is great. It is neat to be able to sit in the subdued lighting at the base of the volcano and watch the boats drift by from El Rio del Tiempo. The food was great and the cm was excellent. My only complaint was that the tables were very close together.
Although San Angel Inn seems to get mixed reviews here on the DIS, this is one of most favorite places for lunch.
We try and eat there on every trip. Food prices are not bad and if with either an early lunch or a late lunch seating, we've never had a problem with service.
We also like it because it gives us a break from the hot sun, since it is ALWAYS a cool evening there!
We eat here every trip. The Mexican is standard fair and they do have other options for picky eaters. We have never had more than a 15-20 min. wait as walk0-in.
