Ate at San Angel Inn this past Saturday (Sep. 29th) with my wife and 2 kids (14 & 15). For the appetizers we had Nachos (good), Sopa Azteca (good), Sope Tradicional (okay) and corn chowder (excellent). For the entrees, my daughter had the Camerones Con Fideos (angel hair pasta with a tomato sauce). She didn't like it. I tried it, and agreed. Not good. My son had the Plato Mexicano. He said it was okay. My wife had the Filete Motuleno, and it was pretty good. The steak was very tender. I had the Combinacion Cozumel. The steak was tender, the shrimp were very good, and the poblano pepper mashed potatoes were good, but very spicy. For dessert, we had the white chocolate raisin bread pudding and flan. The bread pudding was not a winner at our table, but the flan was pretty good.
Our drink glasses stayed empty most of the time, but it wasn't because our waiter was not trying. He was very busy the entire time, it just seemed like he had to many tables to keep up with.
Our food was okay, not great, not bad, just okay. The atmosphere is definitely the main reason I would go back. If I were using the dining plan again, I would probably go back. If I were paying out of pocket to dine there, I would not go back.

I don't think dinner is a good value, but I'd never hesitate to pay out of pocket for lunch.

The nachos, sopa azteca, corn soup you mentioned, margaritas, ceviche, any of the roasted red meats, flan and Mexican dessert coffee are my top menu picks.

The lunch menu is much simpler and consistantly better than the dinner, has been for years.

I've got to have my Pollo a las Rajas when I go to the San Angel. That is just about my favorite dish at WDW. Grilled chicken breast served over red peppers, onions, chile poblano, chorizo and melted cheese. I want that recipe. That and the atmosphere is why I go there on every trip.

Ahh yes, half and half, the key to anything that makes me go "MMMMMM"!

I'm sure that's why the corn soup is SO good at San Angel, it's probably 50% half and half!

I guess there isn't a chace you could get Pollo A Las Rajas
without chorizo?

I have to agree with you on this one :thumbsup2 !! I loved this too!! This was one of our best meals last Aug & we have an ADR here for our trip in Nov. We had a table right along the water & had an excellent waiter. Can't wait for this meal again!

Thanks for the review. This is in line with my thoughts on San Angel. Not amazing but better than the credit most people give it. Only eaten there for lunch, though.
