Do they still have Nachos de Pollo on the lunch or dinner menu?

But alas, I had them this past June and I must say, they were NOT like they use to be. They bordered on horrible.

San Angel was always on our list of places to eat and I would be one of the first to come to the defense of this restaurant; until this last trip.

First off immediately I noticed that there was hardly any "pollo". Where had all that chicken gone that I fondly remembered. And then it was just "thrown" together in globs. Then to make matters worse; it wasn't even hot. Luke warm would have been a more precise description. I had to bring this to the attention of the server who wanted to bring it back to the kitchen. But at this point I had lost all interest in food.

Now, will I go back; yes. Maybe this was just an off day. But if it happens again, then that's it. Off the list it comes!!!:sad2:

We ate at San Angel Inn on the 18th for dinner. The menu was nothing like I remembered last time we were there. No nacho plate, no combination plate, no shrimp pasta. I had looked at the menu available online and posted above, and they definitely have a new menu for at least dinner. I really wish Disney's website would have their current menus for viewing.

DW and I enjoyed our meals, but it just wasn't really what we were expecting to be ordering. We didn't see any type of what you'd expect at a Mexican restaurant: no tacos, no burritos, no enchiladas, no nachos. It was a "fancier" type of Mexican cuisine.

We ate there last Thurs. (9-25) and they Absolutely did not have nachos for dinner! Certainly not what I had expected. I really couldn't tell you the name of the entree that I ordered, it was chicken and it was good. But my daughters (both adults) ate off the kids option and had chicken casadas (SP)
I doubt that our family would eat there again, but the food was ok.

me and the family ate there on 8-29...it was pretty horrible definetly th worse food our whole week

during the week we did
marrakesh
narcoose's
maya grill

all were leaps and bounds above

This is distressing, I love the atmosphere here and the Nacho plate was my favorite. I have had the one outside and it was nowhere near the same. Darn! Thanks for the info everyone. I don't see where the dining plan will be a great deal if the menu stinks. It is even worse for those paying the big bucks without the plan.

I will say even though the menu (at least for dinner) is different, we'll likely go back again next year. Like you, I just love the atmosphere of this restaurant, above all others I've been to at WDW.

I'll try to describe what DW and I ordered for our meal.

DW - chicken with a creamy cheese sauce, along with roasted peppers, and onions

Myself - Puntas de filete, as noted on the menus linked above in this thread

We ate at San Angel Inn last week for lunch. The menu is not what is posted on line. We enjoyed the atmosphere and our lunch.

Just had dinner at San Angel the other night (9/29) and I have to say it was the worst food we have ever eaten. While the atmosphere is very nice, the quality of the food has gone down hill over the years. We used to be fans, but no more. Never again!! Yuck!!

My family was also there on the 18th for dinner (ressies were at 7:00 pm). I took my DD2 to Garden Grill while DH, DD8 and my parents and brother were at San Angel.

I'm not sure what they ordered or how the food is but will have to ask. I do know that they were there forever that night. I think it was awhile before they were seated and then they didn't get out until close to or just after park closing.

Can anyone recommend a dish that is on the CURRENT menu for picky eaters?
If you like shrimp, I would recommend the shrimp enchiladas. They were huge with the green sauce. Someone in our group substituted with chicken and it wasn't good at all. Most of us enjoyed our meal, but like previous posters said the menu has changed a lot. There is a veggie plate but none of us ordered it.

There wasn't any shrimp on the menu when I was there last month. The menu posted online was totally different than the menu we had. We had a wonderful table by the water, and the desert was good, but neither DH or I were very happy with the dinner selections.

I was there also last month, it was either sept 10, or 11th and it was at lunch. So there is shrimp on the lunch menue

Yeah, that was definitely not on the dinner menu last month when we were there. I would have ordered that, as I love shrimp.

We were there Sept 8th for dinner and there was no shirmp to be had!! I really was not happy at all with the dinner menu and wished I had made the ADR somewhere else instead.
