Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the menu that San Angel Inn supposably has for people with Celiac or food allergies. I have talk to 3 people at Disney & no one has helped me out yet.

Has anyone with allergies eaten here?

DH wants to see the menu before we make reservations.

Thanks! :flower:

All I remember about Celiac is that it is an autoimmune disorder that affects the small intestine and nutrient absorbtion.

Can you tell us what it is you can't eat, and then maybe we could go from there?

Those with Celiac need to eat completely Gluten free. My bosses DD has it and its amazing how much she has to monitor her.

Kris & Steve, I'd contact Disney Dining to put you in touch with either the head Chef at EPCOT or the head chef at San Angel to discuss what they can prepare for you, even before your reservation. Chatting about your likes and dislikes might allow them to come up with something you'd really enjoy!

Hi all, thanks for your replies.

DH is not new to the Celiac world, he has had it for about 3 years now. He just wants to see a menu before we plan to eat at San Angel Inn. We are trying to come up with a substitute for Teppanyaki which we already have an ADR for but DH is nervous about eating there & I can't say I blame him.

He is allergic to wheat, oats, barley, rye, malt, distilled vinegar & a lot more.

I will try to call & speak with the head chef at Epcot. I called a number that WDW Dining gave me but I just got transfered to an operator & she had no clue what I was talking about.

~Thanks everyone~

My best friend has Celiac and Disney is wonderful to her. Even baked her a special cake! Call and let them know ahead of time if possible but even if you don't they go above and beyond. She talks to the head chef at every restaurant they visit and they always have special foods she can have.

San Angels has always been our favorite restaurant at WDW until this past July. (7 trips) I had read mixed reviews before we went and unfortunately, our worst fears were realized. The food quality has dropped considerably. Maybe a different menu might make a difference, but I doubt it. Sorry for the less than positive review.

Thanks for the review! I have read all the reviews, some good and some bad, I think we are still going to try it as we have never been there. I just think I need to give it a chance because not everyones ideas of good food or the same. If it's bad so be it, at least we tried it.

On another note. We don't have any really great Mexican places around us. I don't even mind Taco Bell every once in a while so I imagine it can't be that bad. :)

My sister is celiac and, though we haven't eaten at San Angel Inn with her, all of the chefs at the other restaurant are fantastic. Some quick tips:

* Boma for dinner bent over backwards and was really magical. Her dish they made drew glances from other tables and was amazing.

* The counter service at American Adventure has a gluten free pizza that she had several times.

* Make sure to have advanced reservations and call the restaurant ahead of time. Make sure they mention celiac on your reservations. Then, when you are seated, ask the server to speak to the chef. The chef at each restaurant would then come out and work with my sister on the menu and/or buffet. For example, at the buffets, they would walk through the line with her and tell her what was, or was not, appropriate to eat.

Everyone was so nice to her and we look forward to going back.

Best of luck!
