San Angel Inn - Mexico

What should I order if I do not like Mexican spices ?

DH likes Mexican food.
The atmosphere looks great, but what to eat ?

Could I order off thre childrens menu.....
Pollo Con Fideos - Chicken tenders served with "fideos" (angel hair pasta in a light tomato sauce topped with shredded cheese), mixed vegetables and fresh fruit cocktail $7.49

I don't like Mexican flavors either and when we went, I had nachos. I had them leave off the jalapeno peppers and it was quite good.

I'm not sure that they would allow you to have a child's entree.

The atmosphere is very pretty. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Be prepared - it is VERY dark. When we were there last year, I couldn't even find an item in the diaper bag for my kids. Be careful what you put down because you may never find it later!

We went a few years ago and I ordered off the kids menu. I had quesadillas, they just brought me an adult portion.:)

The Camerones Con Fideos looks like the same angel hair pasta dish, just ask for no chipotle pepper...they obviously make it that way for the children, and it has shrimp instead of the chicken fingers. Just ask your server...they may let you have the childrens dish, or may make you an adult version so they can charge you for the adult price; either way, you are avoiding the mexican spice. Or just have a salad, a Mexican Coffee and dessert ::yes::

We ate there a couple weeks ago and they were very accomodating. My wife, who likes "american" Mexican food, couldn't find anything she wanted on the menu and just for her they made a plate of grilled chicken breast with mexican rice and beans. White rice was also available. We also had them leave out various other ingrediants and everything arrived at the table correct.

As a pp said, it is VERY dark in there! Service was just OK, nothing special.

If you aren't sure about this one, I would skip it. The room is beautiful, but can be experienced in the market area and the boatride without eating. We were unimpressed with the food here, but as I said they were very nice about customizing the menu for you.

It's a lot of money to spend, so make your table service choices wisely!

I recently ate there: I recommend the tilapia without the sauce.
My friend had the corn chowder and loved it.
