Sam's Club car rental?????

This is my first time renting a car and I think I may have made a mistake. I was hoping I could get some feedback from those who have rented cars through Sam's Club. From their website, I chose National for 8 days in October. When the various quotes came up there was a price of $165.99 for a compact car. In the column that said "extra charge" - the amount was $0. This sounded like a good price since most of the other car rental companies were charging arounf $200 total.

I was really shocked at the online confirmation b/c it seems sort of vague. Now I'm wondering if this $165.99 does not include taxes or other charges. Should I cancel this reservation and keep looking around? Thanks.

Don't cancel it so soon, take the confirmation number that they gave you for the reservation and go to National's website, at the top of the page there is a place to check the reservation. It will tell you what the total cost is.

Why didn't you just book it yourself using Sam's code and free upgrade coupon? It is on their website. Under travel, http://www.samsclub.com/eclub/main_...BV_EngineID=ccdgadcjfdihffkcfkfcfkjdgoodflh.0

Your link does not work. I get a session expired message on the Sams web site.

I am curious, do you have a regular sams account or one of the plus accounts. I have a regular account and do not see anything like what you are talking about. I looked under the travel section as well as the car rental section.

I am also looking to rent for the first time, 2nd time to DW, and am finding all of this very overwhelming. I can't seem to find anything under $170, before tax and all of the other taxes/charges.

I've check the mousesavers site and tried the codes. I'll be in DW for 8 days 7 nights, Thursday to Thursday. I don't know if that is helping or hurting

Thanks for any help/suggestions.

I just have regular old Sam's club account. Sorry about the link not working. I will walk you through it step by step.
1. Go to Sam's Club site.
2. At the top of the page click on travel
3. On the travel page you should see a box that says travel destination guide. Click on that.
4. After you scroll past that HUGE picture, you will see a number of links. Click on coupons.
5. Ta Da there you are.

Thanks for your help. I found my best deal, so far, with Dollar and mousesavers.com. I'll keep checking as it gets closer to departure. Thanks again for all of your help and information.
