I've noticed that many of Disney's menu items appear in the identical form at multiple locations. For instance, the personal pizza I had at Pizzafari appears to be the identical one I've seen at Pinocchio Village Haus.

Of course, the corollary to this is that some things appear to be the same on differnent menus, but are in fact entirely different. The fresh, hand-breaded cod and steak fries at Yorkshire Fish Shoppe was definitely not the same fish and chips meal that came from the freezer at Columbia Harbor House.

Please share what you know to be the same at different venues, as well as common menu items you know to be unique at a particular spot.

Thanks!

You're going to get different opinions on this too - I personally like Columbia Harbor House's fish & chips better than the ones at Yorkshire Fish Shoppe (which I think has gone considerably downhill)

I would assume that around the World Showcase, food will be different from similarly named items anywhere else around WDW with the exception of food in the American pavillion which will be the same as everywhere else.

Remember that it makes more financial sense for Disney to order standard fare like pizzas and chicken fingers and fries and burgers in very large quantities and distribute to all of the dining locations around WDW.

Agreed, but it's not opinion I'm looking for, since those are readily available in other threads. I want to know, for instance, if I would get the exact same ribs at Cosmic Ray's as I would get at Flame Tree Barbeque. I want to know if I can get a Main Street Bakery Cinnamon Roll at Hollywood Studios. I want to know if Pecos Bill's burger and topping bar is, in fact, the same as that at Cosmic Ray's. I want to know if the rotisserie chicken I had at Sunshine Seasons is the exact same served elsewhere.

Armed with these objective answers, one can then seek out, or avoid, what he or she prefers, rather than eat the same mistake twice.

while most DISNEY owned places serve similar items most will differ with what is on top-- Flatbread with???? Strip Steak with?????
some have the same like burgers but the atmosphere can make something taste a lot better :confused3

I do believe that Flame Tree has it's own special rub it uses so I would guess they would be different from other venues!

That's good to know! You're killing me, however, since I've been wanting those ribs forever, and have discovered that Flame Tree will be closed during my upcoming visit. That's why I was wondering if I could get the same elsewhere.

I am with you OP. I am headed there in about 24 days. I am considering sampling the rib & chicken combo at Ray's to see how well it compares to FTBBQ.

me too !! I thin Columbia HH is underrated....their fish and chips are great. (as are the nuggets)

You may love CHH, but this is my point: You might reasonably assume that the fish and chips would be the same elsewhere, and then be disappointed with what you got at Yorkshire Fish Shoppe. In my case, I tried CHH, only to be disappointed when it turned out to be different from YFS.

I like the Pizzafari pizzas, so I'm glad to know that I can get the same elswhere. Would I see the same one at the resort counter service, or at Pizza Planet? Since I'm one who plans every meal (and snack, even) in advance, it's very helpful to know these things.

I found the burger at ABC Commisary to be one of the worst I've ever had, and there are a lot of bad burgers out there. Consequently, I've avoided every other burger at Disney. A topping bar or an onion ring at Pecos Bill's could not redeem that thing, in my estimation. But maybe there's a different one out there, hand-formed or char-grilled, or perhaps even made of better-quality meat. You may love it or hate it, but if you know that one is different, let me know!

I avoid burgers at CS completely. I have never done a survey to see if all Disney CS burgers are the same but yes I do assume they are. Pecos Bill has something called an Angus burger but I can't tell you what makes that different from other CS burgers. TS burgers do vary.

Agreed.

The burger I had at Sci-Fi was much better then the food court at POR.

I've heard the burgers at Beaches and Cream are great too.

Interesting thread topic OP! I have some info to share.....

DH and I are goofy foodies in that we sometimes go to WDW with a *Theme* food. LOL Just an example of what I mean would be this...two years ago we decided to try as many of the shredded pork bbq sandwiches so we could compare how they all varied. We actually were expecting to find them mostly the same. The pleasant surprise was that I don't think we had any repeats.

We tried Flame Tree and shared a beef and a pork one....we liked the pork much much better but both were good.

ESPN, those were DANG good!

Big River Grill....those were right behind ESPN and were pretty good but different.

The counter service location closest to the Tower Of Terror had them on the menu as well so we tried that one. It wasn't bad and in our opinion is now one of the better/best things on the MGM Studios (sorry, won't call it the new name LOL) counter service menus.

Each and every bbq sandwich was different, all in good ways. So happy that these didn't seem to be as mass produced as we thought they'd be!!

The adult chicket nuggets were the same at cosmic rays and hollywood studios backlot express.

From the pics I have seen pizzafari pizza and piza planet look the same but i only ate at pizza planet so can't say 100%.

Not surprising that these establishments have different food. Neither is run by Disney. Big River is a completely differeny company. ESPN may be owned by Disney, but WDW does not run their kitchen.

Actually, Walt Disney World doesn't order. Walt Disney World makes these pizzas - at least the ones for PizzaFari, so if they're all the same throughout the parks, wherever the kitchen is that's making those is making them all. It was on one of the History Channel or Travel Channel shows a couple of years ago.

Here's one for the same name - different sandwich variety.

Both DAK and DHS have a "Hot Italian Sandwich". Difference being that DAK's Piizzafari serves a Hot Italian Style Sandwich which, IMO, is great. It is actually half of a very LARGE sandwich with a caesar salad topping and pesto marinated tomatoes.

DHS's Catalina Eddie's has a Hot Italian Deli Sandwich that, IMO, is a distant wannabe. It has all the same ingredients but is served on a different bun (more of a sub loaf) that is severely lacking. I got suckered into ordering it thinking it would be the same sandwich and was left wanting.

Well my basic point was that we tried the shredded bbq pork sandwiches at probably a dozen places at WDW and that each and every one of them was different. LOL Those are restaurants that Disney patrons will generally partake of so I figured they could be listed as *no repeat* menu items. :p

That's another great example! In perusing the menus, I assumed those to be the same sandwich as well, and since I know that people really like the Pizzafari version, I was planning to go to Catalina Eddie's for lunch at DHS.

Now I'll plan to skip Eddie's Hot Italian sandwich, and look for that BBQ sandwich near ToT, instead. Thanks for the input, guys!
