I'm not a member of Costco yet, but am wondering if anyone can tell me what benefits Costco offers for booking a hotel and passes with them.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!!!

I actually just found the answer myself. I get everything Disney offers and then some, for a little less. Well worth the cost of the Costco membership. Rock on, Costco!

Yep! We were really pleased with our Costco package as well. Ours included TTMM, and a character breakfast, one EE, priority seating etc. for the same price as many packages were offering just the hotel and DL hopper passes. I thought it well worth the price of a Costco membership also!!!:thumbsup2

Why is it you can't research the packages online? When I submit my dates, I get an error page every single time for the past week!

Lynzer Torte, when are your dates? You should be able to look at packages...the error messages I have seen were because they were updating the system (late at night/early in the morning) or if I goofed on something I put in (return date before arrival date, that sort of thing), or if I was looking too far out.

I've not had any problem checking packages online, and I do not have a membership.

It has been incredibly slow though, so if you don't have a fast connection, that might be the problem.

I could try to pull up the dates you want (and you'll need to tell me the hotel) to give you an idea, but you will still need to get it to work to book. (Though I think there is number you can call to book.)

FWIW, all the packages I have looked at have been priced exactly the same through Disney and Costco, but you get the extras from Costco. (Actually, when you go to the Costco site, it redirects you to a special link within the regular Disney site to get prices.)

That's the situation I had when i booked our package. Actually, when I started researching, the price difference was significant. But I waited, and then when I checked in the evening (after going through all my possibilities and writing them down that morning) everyone's prices had gone up, and the difference was only a dollar or two between Costco and DL.

Is Costco still offering the included character breakfast?

I found booking those packages interesting, b/c both AAA and Costco take you to their own version of the Disneyland website. I guess since it's all under WDTC they each just get their own little gateway to the official site. And once you book, when you call the number you will be given, you're dealing with WDTC people down in Anaheim, but they answer based on who you booked with, so they'll answer Costco Disney...but they are the wonderful and lovely WDTC cast members. :)

My dates are 2/27-3/3. I have a fast internet connection. I have no idea why it won't let me get rates! Here's what it says: "We are sorry, but there was a problem processing your request. Please try again

If you continue to have technical difficulties, please call us at (877) 849-2730."

Whoa...that my computer go all floopy!!! The dates you gave did indeed give me an error.

I wonder if it's the Leap Day that's messing up the computer?

Trying dates at the end of Feb, but finishing before Leap Day, I didn't get an error, but things are all messed up in appearance. And trying dates from March 1 does the same thing. No error, but it's messed up.

I'd probably just call at this point.

As far as I know, the Costco deal DOES include the character breakfast. It says it does, anyway.

I don't think it is Leap Day causing the problems, only because I am booking for Leap Day and it is fine. I think it is the length of stay (read on.)

Lynzer Torte-

Very weird- the first time I plugged your dates in, I got the exact same error you got.

Then I backed it up a day, so that you were only there for 4 night, and the price was $1870 at the Paradise Pier hotel, $2306 at the Grand Californian.

So I tried again with the 3rd added, and then I got this error:

"Disneyland® Resort Hotels allow a maximum stay of up to four consecutive nights. Please adjust your dates or try one of our Good Neighbor Hotels."

So it doesn't look like you can stay that long in one hotel.

Note that the gift card listed here is NOT the $20 one from Costco- it is the bigger one from Disney for staying 4 nights. You also get the additional Costco goodies.

Grand Cali details:
Arriving on 2/27/2008 for 4 nights; 2 Adults and 2 Children (ages 15, 13)
1 infant
$2,306.00
Room Type:Standard View Room

Tickets:5 for 3 Park Hopper® souvenir ticket
Dining:None
Special Features:
Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness
Disney Gift Card

Paradise Pier details:
Arriving on 2/27/2008 for 4 nights; 2 Adults and 2 Children (ages 15, 13)
1 infant
$1,870.00
Room Type:Standard View Room
Package: Resort Package
Tickets:5 for 3 Park Hopper® souvenir ticket
Dining:None
Special Features:
Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness
Disney Gift Card

ETA That I didn't look at any of the Good Neighbor hotels- you sorta' need to pick a specific one or otherwise you have to look at them all individually, which takes forever.

And FWIW, we'll be there the same time. ;)

Thanks for your help Kimberlina!

What's up with limiting the # of nights you stay?! You'd think they'd want you there as long as possible.

We definitely want to do DL Hotel- we've never stayed anywhere else. According to DTC it would be $2338 for the 5 of us for the dates I stated. I wonder if Costco can beat that?

DLH- 4 nights only, Feb 27 to Mar 2- through Costco:

Arriving on 2/27/2008 for 4 nights; 2 Adults and 2 Children (ages 15, 13)
1 infant
$1,870.00
Room Type: Standard View Room
Package: Resort Package
Tickets: 5 for 3 Park Hopper® souvenir ticket
Dining:None
Special Features:
Disney Gift Card
Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness
Character Calls

+Character Breakfast, Lanyard, and $20 Disney Gift Cad only available through Costco

My guess with the limiting stays is that there are too few Disneyland accomodations, so they limit so that more people can get a chance to spend their money on Disney properties (less complaints from guests about availability.) WDW has a gajillion hotels, so it isn't an issue there.

Thanks again, Kimberlina. I was able to do it using only 4 days.

Wonder if I can book 5 if I call? We also want the 6 for 4 Park Hoppers...

what are the gift card amounts i never knew you could get gift card in the packages that must be nice
