Anyone ever heard of this? I requested a quote from a on-line TA "specializing" in Disney. I wanted a package with an AAA discount for me & DH. DD (9) has 3 days left on a ticket that need to be used before she turns 10 so no need for a package for her. The TA said Disney requires everyone in the room to have the same tickets so we would have to buy the package for her.

They are correct, but there is a way around this. Don't book a package. Book the room only, then separately book tickets. If you use the MYW package everyone in the room has to be on the same type without variations. It may turn out though that buying two sets of tickets for the one person is more expensive, generally MYW is not the cheapest way to go though, its just the easiest. I only did it my first time there because I didn't know any better. It is also not refundable, room only reservations are 100 percent refundable up to a few days out and only require a one night deposit, not full payment. What I do now is buy my airline tickets, reserve a room, and wait for discounts, if nothing comes out I go ahead and buy tickets, it doesn't cost any more even in that worst case scenario.

Thanks for the info. I usually don't do a package either, we bought 10 day no expire tickts a few years ago and this will be our 3rd visit on them. I was going to save mine and DH's since and get the package with free waterpark since we wanted to do that, it would be a fairly good deal IF we didn't have to pay for DD. I've always managed to get a room discount code before, but not so far this year. Oh well, we're going anyway!

I would go ahead and book the package for everyone with the free upgrade. You may not know that if you have a Child that has a child ticket and the next time you go to WDW that child is then ten (or older) you can exchange it for an adult ticket free of charge at Guest Relations at the park. In this case you would bring your daughter's birth certificate the next time you want your DD to use the ticket to prove she was indeed a child (aged 3-9) and they will exchange it out for a equal adult ticket she can then use.
