Same day reservation?

Do same day reservations ever come available? Is it only found by calling member services or would the hotel line work? I noticed I can no longer search for next day checkins at 12 midnight.

Also, anyone else having troubles with booking errors? Not sure if it's me, browser, or last minute ghost reservations that might not be real.

Same day does require you to call.

I run into booking errors now and then. Had one just last Thursday and it locked up the room I was trying to book for at least the 20 minutes it's supposed to be held. Finally it must have cleared and when I tried booking it again it processed correctly. I hadn't experienced a booking issue in awhile before that but sometimes get them regularly.

My stories of same day reservations:
DW and I several times have been at DS (DTD) for the day and decided we wanted to stay the night. Called the resorts directly (back before MS was open on Sundays) or MS and checked in within 15 minutes.

At MK for the day in Feb ’14 for our anniversary, called MS @09:00, and booked a room at BLT for that night. Checked-in @11:00 and the room was ready. We did not plan on this day going like this until @05:00 while still in bed.

Wish it didn't take so long to get through all the prompts and verify information just to check availability at 1 resort. :/ I was hoping to call periodically today and hoping for a faster way.

When superstorm Sandy hit we lost power and were told it would be an extended time before restoration. So, off to Florida/WDW we went with the contents of much of our freezer in a cooler (for grilling) and no Resort reservations. We made same day or day before reservations at VB, OKW, AK and BW. As we were driving, MS told us there was no availability anywhere (WDW resorts, HH or VB), but when my wife checked online immediately after the call, VB was available for 3 nights and we booked it. As we tried to piece together other reservations, we found online system availability inaccurate. (Once, I was able to start booking a room at BW, but the system failed with an error message). For the rest of our stay (12 days total), MS was able to book rooms for me the day of or day before when no rooms appeared available online.
