I'm glad that you have been able to work things out with the dress and that you feel comfortable and satisfied with your decision, which is the most important thing. I also had the memory charms (like you mentioned having) of my 3 grandparents that had passed away on my bouquet. We also had empty seats in the front row where I had flowers placed in their memory. Then I was able to wear my grandma's wedding ring on one of my other fingers which also meant a lot. Even without the dress there are still a lot of great ways that you can incorporate your grandma's memory.

I know I forgot to update last night. Me and DF had to make copies from ALL his medical records from since he was 8 to recent hes 25!!! It took FOREVER he has an appointment with his dr on friday to find out if he gets on the list for the transplant keep your fingers crossed!! I couldn't finish the programs last night I'll update tonight for sure!! I'm soo happy you got the flowy dress!! It looks great! Can't wait for this weekend its my shower!! I'll be looking out for new updates!! (< me at work )

I definitely don't mind you using the idea; I know I borrowed plenty ideas for my wedding too. I actually got the frames from Oriental Trading. They came in a pretty big package and I am pretty sure the rest of them are at my parent's house. If you want a couple I would be more than willing to share. They're nothing fancy, but they still looked great in the pictures.

Empty seats with flowers; the one with the pictures is Kris' dad who passed away 3 months before the wedding. He was actually suppose to have the rose with the red ribbon on his chair that is on the altar table. Disney Floral just forgot to put it in the right spot:

Hey Sam, just catching up on your report. I have been on and off the boards lately. We have had some medical things with both my dad and Sheldon's dad.

I got a frame for a photo of my mom to put on my bouquet. It is a simple silver square that I got at Michaels. My dad really liked it. I have some photos of it but none are loaded on my laptop. If I get a chance to do so in the next few days I will do so and post it here.

We are heading down to Disney on Sunday and will be gone almost 3 weeks - two weeks with Sheldon's dad and one week at the Beach Club. Let me know if you need anything from Disney and I can pick it up.

Favors, yes I started the search... I found an idea online that I thought was super cute (and matched our fuschia, mango and violet colors ) So I put my thinking cap on and came up with a really inexpensive alternative to traditional pricey favors. Let me know what you think ladies

Here is the inspiration idea (from the knot)

I loved the colors together, very bright and fun (and skittles happen to be a childhood fave). So the "treat" part of the favor was set (Just for the record I think all favors should have a "treat", cookie, candy, cake, I am excepting of any of all of the above lol) My co-worker Nick (who I think I bug about the wedding stuff lol) said I could get bulk skittles on ebay... now I thought this was a little sketchy, but I looked anyways... apparently there is a whole "vending machine" world of sweets available in bulk on ebay for less then what I would pay at costco! You basically get a big box of fresh skittles (the kind you see in the quarter gumball/vending machines) sent right to your door. Now I was still a bit suspect, but Nick being a good co-worker, decided he would make a big sacrific and spend $7 on 5 lbs of skittles and see what happened lol (he is skittle-aholic btw). Well 3 days after he placed his order he carried a huge 5lb box of skittles to work for us to "sample"... man were they tasty . And no one has died from eating them so I am assuming they must be safe lol! I won't order the skittles for the favors until closer to the wedding, but I found a cheap place to get bulk skittles... oh and for all the favors I need I need about 22lbs of skittles... my carry on bag is going to be fun to carry through MCO But the skittles will cost about $40, not too shabby!

So I found the "treat" now I needed a good container, so I searched online and learned about "the wonderful world of plastics"... I will save anyone else who is looking for a container the pain I went through lol. I learned the PET plastic is what you need for food products (it's what soda bottles are made of), so I searched for "PET plastic containers" on google... I thought I would get 1 maybe 2 reuslts.... I got thousands, so I started going down the list. I found a company who sells PET products in every size, shape, style imaginable. I finally decided on a 2oz tall thin container with a white cap, and ordered 185 of them for $60!

Total so far $100, not bad...

Now I had a favor, but I wanted duel purpose favors and placecards (1 less thing to bring to FL). So I went to Etsy... oh how I love Etsy... and I ordered 200 custom labels for the favor. The woman who made them did an awesome job making a design to match our theme and colors, here it is...

And these were only $40, so we are up to $140 total. I figure if I put the sticker on pretty card stock and punch a hokle in it I could tie it around the bottle and have it serve both purposes ( fvaor and placecard) by writing the guests name and table on the back and the sticker would show on the front. I picked up a few spools of ribbon, and some heavy cardstock at Michaels (about $12). So my grand total for 185 favors and placecards was $152! I think less the a buck a piece is pretty reasonable and if it serves 2 purposes all the better! I am curious to see what you all think though I'll post pics of the finished product once I am 100% satisfied with it lol, I got a bit lazy last night putting the samples together and gave up and went to sleep lol!

That way guests can see it more easily and if they decide to keep the bottle after it will always have your sticker on it to remind them of the wedding.

Actually I found out that vegans cant eat skittles because of that eithier, I don't think I have any vegan coming though... maybe I can fill a few with Vegan treats just in case... any yummy vegan recommendations? M&M's?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. If someone doesn't like gelatin I am sure they will just give them to someone who does. I really think its an awesome idea though - it will be so colorful and happy looking to have them all be on a big table together.

Totally don't worry about vegans or whatever. There (in my former-vegan opinion) is no such thing as a "yummy" vegan candy. M&Ms have milk product in them, most hard candes use gelitin or honey. It's just not worth the headache.

I have a ton of allergies and stuff, most significantly strawberries. I've now been to 5 weddings were chocolate covered strawberries were the favor. Never once - even at my cousin's wedding when I was in the bridal party - have I ever gotten "special" favors. And never once have I expected it. If you have allergies or are a vegan or whatever, you expect that you will get things you can't eat, and you politely give them to someone who can eat it. It's not worth the extra effort.

Okay.... yeah, I'm crabby. Sorry don't mean to be a grinch
But I say save the effort.
