AllEars is reporting Samantha Brown is taping a new special for thte Travel Channel:

Samantha Brown, the very popular Travel Channel star, was in Epcot today (Sunday) filming for an upcoming special on Walt Disney World. I was told that the special will air on the Travel Channel December 12th. Samantha and film crew were near the International Gateway entrance to Epcot. Her and her film crew, along with a number of Disney Cast Members were busy at work taping various segments for the special. A member of her crew said that she had already taped in the other three parks.

I did see her tweet that she was heading to Orlando on Saturday...if she's already done her filming that was some short filming...she was at MK this morning though with some free time...

Thanks for the heads up. :thumbsup2 I love Samantha Brown! :lovestruc It will air just a few days after we return, so it will be like being there again. :flower3:

Man I hate Samantha Brown. She used to be so good, so good! Her show was honest, complete, both positive AND negative and she was funny.

Now she's so full of herself and her lame *** shows are nothing but paid commercials. Might as well read the brochures from the places she visits because she's not gonna deviate from what the locations are paying for.

I enjoy the Samantha Brown specials. I'm looking forwarded to an updated one.

A couple months ago, the Travel Channel was still playing a WDW show with a segment on pleasure Island... showing all the Night clubs. :happytv:

I don't know if I've seen her show or not- I can't wait to see the Disney World special though.

This rocks! My DW, DD(8) and I all love Sam! :cool1: Too bad I won't get to see it until I go on leave in Feb!:confused3

I disagree that she's full of herself, although I haven't met her personally I know people who have and relative to other people with their own show, she really does seem to be a genuinely nice person.

Now do her shows only show positive things that the locations want to show? Maybe, but whatever, I still enjoy watching.

I also follow her on Twitter and she's answered questions regarding traveling for me in the past.

I stand corrected. I have never met her (nor would I care to) nor do I know anyone who has. Therefore if you say she seems like a genuinely nice person I will rescind my statement as I have always respected your opinion around here.

As for her show, it used to be great. She'd call a hotel, restaurant, whatever on the carpet when things weren't up to snuff but with success it changed, although I am sure she had no hand in it, so I guess my statement should have been "man I hate her show." In the same vein I used to love Anthony Bourdain, as much for his elitisim and boorishness as his views on travel and food, but sadly with success he is mellowing too. Does everything on TV have to follow the same script for success?

Go a couple of threads down and re-read the discussion of the new DTD. It's kind of the same thing isn't it? Homogenize everything to try to appeal to wider and wider audiences and eliminate any uniqueness.

Absolutely agree. I don't know how long I can go until my freakin' head EXPLODES!!!!! Or I'll just get a labotomy.:scared1:

Yikes!

Met and got to hang out with her for a bit while she was filming a special here in Memphis. She was very down to earth and pleasant, a nice person with cameras on or off.

Seems like a very short time to film and edit, maybe this is just adding additional material to her earlier specials? Who knows, things move pretty fast I suppose

Nothing changes the fact that she's just a shill though. She's nice, a good person, fun to watch. OK. But wouldn't it better if she actually called a stinker "a stinker" when she came across it? Wouldn't everybody enjoy and benefit more from honest reviews and stories from her rather than homoginized PR? She was that way her first year or two and it was great.
