Sale Pending at BCV!

[DIS Godfather]

This is how I typically do things. Woke up this morning, checked a DVC resale website, saw a BCV listing, said what the heck. Made the call and amazingly, the BCV resale was available. I jumped right in and said send me the paperwork!

Of course, this was after carrying the DVC brochure in my workbag and staring at it 3 times a day since we came home from our first stay at BCV last August. (after staying at about 5 other WDW resorts, liked this one best)

After I hung up the phone, I gave my DW a big kiss and said Happy Anniversary (coming up in April). Showed her the printout for BCV and it brought tears to her eyes. Perfectly MAGICAL until it hit me...
the dreaded ROFR.

Maybe I should have waited until I cleared that hurdle to surprise my DW?

OK, how worried should I be? How long does this take? I bought at the asking price from the Timeshare Store, so I thought I'd be ok, now I'm worried.

Disney wouldn't cross the DIS Godfather, would they?

Are you the lucky buyer of that really awesome one on TTS??

I hope so...that was a great contract!!

We just passed ROFR...the good news...DVC is not buying as many of them back as they were (at least that is what our realtor says). I have not seen ANYONE recently who did not pass ROFR.

So, don't sweat it too much...Also, it is only taking about 11-14 days to get through...so, if you don't hear...give them a call!!

And, please post when you know!!!

Once again...congrats!! I KNEW that would go fast!!! I have never seen so many banked points on a contract!!!!

With what they were asking on points, you should be FINE!!!!

We just passed ROFR with 119 banked pts @ $72 per point at BWV. I was told that our offer was a "no brainer" as far as passing RofR was concerned. People have been passing at BCV and BWV with as little as $70 per point...so, I REALLY don't think you have anything to worry about (but, I know you will anyway!!)

I am SO happy for you....and, I am happy that if I couldn't afford that contract...at least a really nice family got it!!!

lol, i gave up on bcv coming on the resale market day before that offer showed up, our first contract plus 2 small add-ons have been bcv, waiting rofr on okw and bwv, it's a little more planning to manage 3 contracts with 3 resorts and 3 use years but it can be done, i think you;ll be ok, i think if resale prices don't rise real fast to keep pace with announced price increase and ssr approaches sell out i think dvc will start to buy back more often, especially if demand stays strong for bcv and bwv, i liked okw so i have no problem staying there, put bid on okw figuring since we go at off times anyway, we;ll use okw to upgrade to 1 br at 7 month windows or use for exchanges, realy want that tuscany bike trip

I'm sure you'll continue to worry, but I can't imagine that you'll have any problem with ROFR. We passed in about 10 days on our purchase at BWV in February ($70 per/lots of banked points). Let us know when you hear.

Congrats! We own at BCV and LOVE it! It is such a beautiful resort. When we bought in, we just wanted to be 'in' the DVC. Didn't even really think about which resort we were buying. Once we saw Samantha Brown's Great Hotel episode on Beach Club and then we made our first visit we FELL IN LOVE! I am SOOO glad that it was the resort they were selling at the time we decided to join (we didn't know about resale--we really went into this somewhat blind--you sound like you have really given this a lot of thought---Good For You!).

Hope all goes well and that you will soon be enjoying your new home next to Epcot!

Thanks to all for your kind wishes!! One of my attractions to DVC has been all of you who make it seem like one big family.
