I got a text from Laura (RachelTori) letting me know that she and her family met up with our other Laura (MICKEY'S DREAMERS)and her husband Marco at AKL spent a few hours with them. Everyone seems to have hit it off very well!

Isn't this how cool that we can all be from all over the place and meet up and have a lovely time together at our happy place!

I hope us end of the month DISers can also meet up and have a good time!

Go for Boma! My DH has never been a big fan of spices or food that was unfamiliar, but he LOVES Boma (both for breakfast and for dinner!).

Thank you all so much for the Boma reassurance! So excited to get the "free" dining yesterday! Makes paying for Tusker House and Akershus feel alot easier - you know!
Think I am going to keep Boma over Sanaa. With just DD and I - even though its a little higher price point overall- I'll get the chance to sample so much more being the only adult and not able to split things.
Counting down to zebra domes!!

Also - I really LOVED seeing about the AKL meet up yesterday! So cool! I cannot wait to meet some of you soon.

Now you've done it! You'll never want to stay in a studio again!

My first DVC stay was in a 1br, I will only stay in a studio for short stays in CA. If I'm going all the way to Florida, I want my jacuzzi tub.

Well, thank you everyone! My TA got it for me (after 2 hours on the phone and me bugging her )! After first not being sure because I really wanted Jambo House, I'm now really excited! Since we're not getting refillable mugs, Mara doesn't matter that much. And DH can now shop & cook to his heart's desire!

Now for the question - what's offered in the kitchen by way of cookware/knives, etc? Are the cups still tiny, and are the plates still paper?

Good Morning Jamborini's and Kidanites!!!! GREAT news today, my middle DS is in the AF and today found out he made staff sergeant, his first time up for it!!! YAY - SO PROUD of him!!!! (he said, " I had to do it, since --- did it") our other son, his older brother, made it his first time up for it too!!! LOL - so the brotherly competition never ends........... LOL

Hey Sweetie!!!! We miss you too!!! YES, the boards were extremely slow yesterday, Pilferk said it was due to the high traffic on the free dining thread. BUT, it was awful!!! Hope things are good with you guys - pet Beauty for me!!!

Everything is full size - cups, plates, etc. and they are real, NOT paper or plastic. You can check this website for a detailed list of everything - but, they do supply everything you'd need.

Well we got back last night We had a wonderful time. We booked a Value room and was given one of the Savanah rooms. This time the animals were all out. It was amazing compared to our December trip were only one Zebra showed up.

When we left yesterday two of the elevators in the main lobby are still being worked on. I took pictures and will post tonight after work.

I also took some pictures of the safe in our room too. I know some people were questioning the size.

Well we got back last night We had a wonderful time. We booked a Value room and was given one of the Savanah rooms. This time the animals were all out. It was amazing compared to our December trip were only one Zebra showed up.

When we left yesterday two of the elevators in the main lobby are still being worked on. I took pictures and will post tonight after work.

I also took some pictures of the safe in our room too. I know some people were questioning the size.

I'm glad you had a good trip and YAY on the upgrade!!! I'm sure you remember, same thing happended to us on our Dec. trip - we didn't see many animals............... anyway, glad you had better luck this time!!!

I love cooking in the Villa, especially at AKV since it's lovely to enjoy breakfast/lunch/dinner in the room with the animals outside to watch!

They give you service for 8, dinner plates, small plates, bowls, coffee cups, wine glasses, small and large glasses, plus a few small plastic juice glasses. There is also silverware and ample cooking utensils. Some Villas have more than others because guests sometimes leave things they have purchased and Mousekeeping doesn't always remove the stuff.

I've cooked extensively on several vacations, and they have pretty much everything I've needed. However, in my Owner's Locker I so have a set of Mickey Measuring Cups, and Spoons and a glass butter dish because It makes it feel more like "home".

Have a great time! Bring some (non foaming) bath salts for the Jacuzzi tub!

I have noting meaningful to add to the discussion today. So here is my useless update Getting my hair done for the last time in Hawaii. Paying off my trip today One part of me is ready to hit the road the other part is scared to go .

ok - random question - will a tall sport water bottle fit in the fridge? I like to bring some and the sport ones seem to spill less with DD
