Thanks - :goodvibes

I know about the names, it's funny, my SIL's granddaughter calls her DH Pee Pee - it's so funny!!!

:lmao:

My Brother and I were the last Grand Kids for my Grandmother and all the grands called her "Gram Ma" when I came along I decided her name was going to "MeMe" and of course I was the favorite grandchild Hey-Hey:laughing:, so she changed her name and made all the grands call her MeMe.... Some of my cousins are 20 years older than me and tried to not call her by the new name, so she would not answer until they called her MeMe.

So I agree, names can be changed for you :dance3:

Now that takes talent:thumbsup2

So very true! Our younger DD called my parents "panty" and "potty" until we could get her to stop! :rotfl2:

:lmao:

It is STOOPID hot here! And it is only 2:30. We are supposed to get to 104.

Stay cool.

Kathy, thanks for the domes:thumbsup2

Just chilling out today, need to do laundry:rolleyes1. I hate laundry.

Good morning Jamborinis! :wave2:

Wendypooh - Congratulations on the grandbaby!!! Will keep DS & DIL in our good thoughts & prayers. :goodvibes

I hope Kim will stop by soon. KIM - we need our leader!! ;)

Elin - you have such an amazing attitude/outlook! ("our lives are different, not over!") Food & Wine Festival just wouldn't be the same without you. :sad1:

For those of us visiting the end of September/1st week of October, we will be scheduling some Meets. We plan to start a link on the DisMeets forum and will post the link here. :) (probably mid-August)

I found a Meet at AKL in a Grand Villa on October 3rd if anyone's interested. It's a benefit for GKTW. I don't know these Disers personally, but it sounds like a nice event for a worthy cause. Here's the link:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2754628

 looking forward to catching up with you & Elin in October plus putting faces to the names for our fellow thread members who will also be there.

I saw that thread and am still considering it. To be honest, I am probably leaning against it because I will have a short trip (for me :goodvibes) and I already have a couple of meets planned with DVCNews friends and then add a meet or two with this crowd, and a couple of ADRs, and F&WF and...

:rotfl2: When I was very little, I couldn't say grandma and grandpa, so I called my grandparents on my fathers side garnu and gump. No I idea where that come from. :) Anyways, once I could say grandma & grandpa, I changed, but my grandmother remembered it and would tell the story for the rest of her life.

It is STOOPID hot here! And it is only 2:30. We are supposed to get to 104.

Ouch! We made it to 102 here but we weren't as humid as you were.

Hi everyone, planning our first trip to WDW but wondering what is the cheapest way to get flights from Seattle to WDW? If it is cost too much I may have to go to DL instead. Currently booked AKV Jambai house Savannah View Studio.
Thanks in advance,
klee888

How many people and when are you going?

According to our local weather, we made it to 104 today. It is still 100 with a heat index of 114 at 9:15 at night. BLECH!

100 now??? :scared1: I hope that the weather breaks soon for those of you south of me and in the middle of the country.

Our plan (we will wake up Thurs. at Universal) is to hit early entry and do anything we missed the day before at HP land. When all the other people start to fill up the park, we will head back, check out and drive to the BCV. Depending on whether or not our room is ready, we'll either hit the kiosks for lunch or go grocery shopping. That might be a nice time that we would both be at Epcot. Our only plans Thurs. are to check in, get groceries and hit the kiosks, so we're real flexible that day. Unless we end up doing one of the three dinners going on that night.

Friday we'll return the rental car in the morning and hopefully do the French Regional lunch. We plan on doing the 3D Desserts party Friday night. Perhaps on Thurs. we could meet up and stroll around Epcot and enjoy some of the booths for a bit. That sounds fun!

It sure sounds like you have some great experiences booked. You should have a great time!

After the F&W bookings take place next month maybe we can try to put an End-of-October DisMeet together - I've mingled with a bunch on the Oct board and there's a bunch also there that week.

Hey Jamborini's!!!!!!!!

I'm BACK!!! We went to Mo. to visit our DS and DIL - had a GREAT time!!!! I see Kim's still not back............. hopefully soon!!!

Elin, YAY on the Oct. trip - I hope your waitlist comes through!!!!

Jen, Any news on Scott's promotion yet??

So, I have some AMAZING NEWS - we are expecting our first grandbaby!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::

Our oldest DS and DIL are expecting, she is due Feb. 9th - we are so excited!!! Some of you know about the last pregnancy and what happened, so we are especially excited this time!!!! Keep her in your thoughts and prayers that all goes well this time!!! :goodvibes

:flower3:

Ooh, how exciting to be expecting a grandprincess: and grandpirate:! I definitely will be keeping your family in my thoughts for a healthy pregnancy and baby!

I called my grandma MeMe too, but I was the oldest grandchild so I started it all! She was trying to teach me Grammy & Grampa but I just picked up Meme and Papa and it stuck for a long time with all the grandkids.

So very true! Our younger DD called my parents "panty" and "potty" until we could get her to stop! :rotfl2:

:lmao: That's a new one, how funny?!

This makes me feel bad complaining about our heat. I'm not sure what the max heat index was today, but WeatherBug on my phone says "only" a high of 92. We're now at 88 with a heat index of 97 and humidity at 61%.:furious:

Hi all :wave2::wave2::wave2: I lurk here all the time. Will be at AKV Oct 19 thru Oct 30th and again Jan 21 thru 29. I've seen various meets mentioned but I have no idea on how to find out if any will be happening while I am there. Is there a thread that lists all the meets? :confused3 You are all such a friendly bunch that I knew I'd find help here. Thanks so much.

Well we just the Kennedy Center, after seeing Wicked, and at 10:30 it is 91 and 85% humidity in DC. Ughhhh. Way too hot. :sad1:

Check the forum called "DisMeets" and if you don't see any threads about meets during your vacation dates, you can start you own thread. You can post the link to it here on the Lite thread! :thumbsup2

Another idea is you can check Brandi's list and PM Disers who will be at WDW when you are. :goodvibes

Good morning, Jamborinis and Kidanites! :sunny:

Another scorcher here today. Stay cool, everyone!

I know this is a weird question out of no where but does anyone know if they sell Kidani luggage tags at Kidani?

Good Morning yesterday in NY it reached 108 and today maybe 100. I'd much rather be hot at WDW:cool1:. Only 9 days to go until our first stay at AKL and we are so very excited :banana::banana::banana:. I just know we are going to have an amazing time.

Maryann :happytv:

It hit 103 degrees at Logan Airport (Boston) yesterday - at least in Virginia, it's supposed to be hot!! Now it's a huge thunderstorm, but they don't expect the heat to break until Monday anyway! :scared1:

It's an indoor day today!

Anyway, I finally bit the bullet - I had a reservation at POFQ that I made when it was going to be a solo trip. Once DH agreed to go, and wanted to eat at Jiko, Boma and Sanaa, I booked my AKV studio through a travel agent and kept the POFQ ressie just in case.

Then I decided that even if I end up solo, I want the animals, too! So I cancelled POFQ to be fair to other vacationers, and I am definitely going to AKV! So excited!

Question - DH is coming in at midnight and will rent a car (I'm coming earlier and taking DME). He wants to stop at a grocery store & pick up some supplies. Anyone know of a 24 hour grocery not too far off the beaten path from MCO to AKL?

Hi all, going for the first time in Oct. and staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I'm a little confused on the bus pick-up and drop off. So for Magical Express dose it go to Kindini Villigae or Jumbo House first. Same withe the park buse who gets picked up first and droped off first. I don't want to accidently go to the wrong part of the hotel. Also do they anncouce at which hotel they are at.
Thanks

Sorry to hear that everybody is suffering up north with the heat...it's another hot summer day in Austin, Texas.

Going back to our home away from home for the first time during Christmas.
And I'm soooo excited ....this will be my mom's first trip with us and I get to take my two nieces and nephew.

Congrats on your reservation! :goodvibes

The DME bus drops off at Kidani first; then Jambo House. (this may not always be the case. :confused3)

The park buses go to Kidani first, then Jambo. The Downtown Disney bus goes to Jambo first, then Kidani. The recording on the bus (if working) will announce each stop; other times the bus driver may or may not. You can always ask your driver if you're unsure. ;)

HTHs! :)
