Chris,

Thanks. I was in Zawadi Marketplace on Monday. They had zebra-striped mickey head ornaments. The price was either $14.95 or $18.95. I looked at so many things, but didn't buy anything.

Kathy

I think I know what our Christmas ornament will be this year! That will be PERFECT!

Thank you! I wish it was tomorrow! Now that we are booked I am obsessed with planning!

It's cake with a touch of liquor (Amarula) added after cooking and covered in white chocolate w/milk chocolate stripes. The bottom has coffee flavored chocolate pieces.
I was disappointed to find that the white chocolate was more of a frosting texture than chocolate. They can fix this. But I was even more disappointed to find out I'm allergic to the liquor.

Oh well, one of the three of us can still eat them.

I am so sorry you are allergic but that sounds AMAZING! I can't wait to try one!

Yesterday I booked Tusker House breakfast and Boma dinner. I figured since AK closes early, it would be a good evening to hang out at our resort. We have been to TH but not Boma. I want to look at Sanaa too but I think the majority of our group might like Boma better.

This is great info! I am an early riser - usually by 7 AM. I was thinking I could sit out on the balcony while everyone else still sleeps. I should perhaps save my money. I can just look at the parking lot! LOL

I am also an early riser. We have stayed at AKL a number of times and had many different views. I still find myself out on one of the porches on a rocker, sipping my coffee and watching the sun come up over Arusha Rock almost every morning. No need for a savanna view for that!

Good morning, Jamborinis! :sunny:

I am very excited this morning. Bob and I are planning a trip! Not to WDW, but a small trip, nonetheless. :goodvibes

i have to be in Boston in August on business for a couple of days. Our older daughter lives there, as does my brother and his family. I talked to Bob's doctor and his rehab team and they said he could go! So, our flights are booked! Also have a rental car and the last two night's lodging taken care of thanks to my boss. It is the first two days and night that I am excited about. And this part of the trip is a surprise for Bob!

When we go to Boston we almost always stay in a wonderful B&B in Brookline to be close to our daughter. However, they are booked for the nights we needed so I decided to start looking at something a little different. Since lots of restaurant hopping and general sightseeing will be out of the question I started thinking maybe we could salvage a semblance of our summer beach vacation. There is a lovely place in Gloucester called the Bass Rocks Inn and they have been so helpful in making certain we can stay there comfortably, no matter what Bob needs at that point. So, the plan is to leave the airport and drive to Gloucester and look at this for a couple of days:

Elin that looks and sounds wonderful. I know that you and Bob will have a relaxing ans tender time of vacationing together.

Elin, it sounds like a perfect getaway! :goodvibes Time together at a beautiful place and getting to see family!

Good morning! I've been trying to peruse all the pages here, WOW!

We are staying at AKL for the first time in September. I booked a Savannah View room (bunk beds) and am now wondering if I should request a certain savannah. Thoughts? Our cast of characters:

Me (Disney fan since I was about 2)
DH (Disney fan since we married)
DD9
DS9

We are actually celebrating our 15th anniversary while there and the Kids don't know about this trip! It will be our 3rd trip to WDW with the kids and I'm doing all I can to keep this one a secret until really close to when we leave.

We will be there 9/20 - 25. Not as long as I'd like, but I don't want to take the kids out of school for a whole week that early in the year.

I have all our ADRs made and know where we are going for park days, but still wondering about whether I should request a certain savannah.

Any input from your AKL veterans would be appreciated!

Darcy

OK, next silly questions about DVC studio:
Coffee pot - cone or basket filters?
Dishwashing liquid & sponges provided?
Sharp knife for cutting bagels?

Elin - I'm so glad to hear that Bob is well enough to travel. Have a fantastic time in Gloucester - it's so beautiful up there! :)

Basket filters. There s/b one small bottle of dishwashing liquid and a little sponge; 2 dish towels and a roll or 2 of paper towels.

I don't believe the studio has any knives -- or any "real" silverware or utensils. I guess it would be kinda hard to cut a bagel with a plastic knife!! Are you driving? Bring one. (I just can't bring myself to suggest packing one in your luggage if you're flying! ;))

Elin, that is wonderful news! What a beautiful spot to relax and rejoice!

Hey Jamborini's!!!! Hope all is well!!! Those ZD's looked so goooooood - OMG, I want some RIGHT NOW!!! :goodvibes

Elin, what wonderful news and gloucester looks AMAZING - enjoy it!!

Ocalla - we are REAL close to LSU - we're actually in prairieville - GEAUX TIGERS!!!! LOL

And, I do hope you are able to switch - the lodge is wonderful - DH fell in love with it the first time we stayed there, now, we are adding on............ LOL --NOT that I'm complaining that he has addonitis ------- I'm GLAD that he's succumbed to it and let me add on............. :thumbsup2

Hope Everyone has a great weekend............ We only have 83 days to go!!!!!

Elin,
I know that I don't know you - but in reading your posts - I just want you to know that I am thinking of you and your family and I hope you have a wonderful vacation!

Thanks to everyone for your excitement for me/us. I know it will be a huge step, but one we need to take to see how our life goes on from here!

Elin
The resort and area look beautiful, I'm sure you & Bob will have a nice time there and I have a feeling it will be the type of rehab Bob will really enjoy! If you don't mind and it's no too off topic share some pics after your travels!

Elin,
So glad to hear Bob is recovering! That is so great that you can travel again. It looks like you have a wonderful trip planned! Enjoy!

Elin, that resort looks great. I am so happy for you. I am thrilled that you both get to go. Have a wonderful time.

A little extra :wizard: to make it even more magical;)
